I have visited this place in 1999. its such a beautiful place.

The problem with India and Pakistan Northern beautiful areas is it is very beautiful but both the Countries possess corrupt Govt. and these roads are always having ditches, Scratches , No safety Barriors. It can be better if Govt. is honest and loyal to country. Love from KPK Pakistan.

I have visited rohtang pass almost 9 times.. but everytime stucked in huge traffic jam and came back after waiting in jam for 6 to 7 hours.. but in June 2014 finally on 10th visit I reached rohtang pass as left MANALI early morning at 4 am as our drive said one night before. Took 4 hours due to Trucks crowd mostly. It was Awesome view and snow was soft to enjoy enough , Had lots of fun and came back to manali by 6pm same day easily but was tired due to less oxygen at that height. But seriously it's an heaven. Driver was experienced , Car was Tata sumo spacio. ( engine sounds like ghad ghad ghad ghad ) 😅 will visit once again after Covid 19 settled down😍 Love himalayas.

Have stayed in Himachal Pradesh for forty three years and enjoyed every bit of it. Remained posted in Kullu and Lahaul Spiti area for eight years in parts at different times. Journey from Manali to Rohtang always enchanted and thrilled me. The first time I went on foot from Rahla near kothi to keylong in May 1975 as the area was under thick cover of snow, because of which bus service had yet not resumed.

Switzerland deserves the praise but I'll rather say we, Indians underestimate Himalayas. How many Indians who run to Switzerland and boast about it, have visited Himalayas ? We''ve The Himalaya but don't know its worth. If it were in Europe, then we'd have spent lakhs to go there. If we keep infrastructure aside, beautiwise, both Kashmir and Switzerland are equal. ( According to my European hiking friends whom I met in Kashmir ) In one way, Himalaya is BAAP of Alps. Even low peaks of Himalayas are taller than Highest peaks of Alps. Word's highest stadium, tunnel, paragliding, go cart track, golf course, rope way... and many many highest things in the world are in Himalayas...Most of which are in India. Go visit them first. Let your money help gentle hearted Himalayi people who earn their bread and butter with tourism. Don't overestimate India but don't underestimate it either.
