2 tablespoon of butter
2 tablespoon of sugar
1, 1/2 cup of milk (any brand)
DRY INGREDIENTS
3, 1/2 cups of flour
2 teaspoon of dry yeast
1/2 teaspoons of salt
DOUBLE INGREDIENTS
4 tbsp of butter

7 cups of flour

Awwwwwww! Just got back from Hawaii yesterday, and my wife's only request (she didn't go), was to bring a Puaa Manapua home to her (which we did). We went there for our youngest daughter to compete in the Women's world fire knife championship, and we had a wonderful time. I got one question. I live on East coast and retired(retarded?😮). I tried making manapua for YEARS and mine ALWAYS come out tan colored, little bit chewy AND flat/deflated. How come? I tried bunch of different recipes and always the same. Under kneading, over kneading? Over/under proofing... I no can figa out😢 They taste O.K but, no look good or appetizing...HELP!

Is there a difference of cooking the meat before you add to the dough? Can you add the meat raw and cook during the steaming time?
