When you fell from the crane I couldn’t stop laughing.I’ve watched it about 4 times and it makes me laugh every time.Keep on what your doing it’s absolutely brilliant.Give your wife my best wishes You are one genuine person.
Watched to the end as usual.., great video’s.., remember using a crane similar to that for truck engines years ago.., leave the content as it is, it’s what makes man cave videos unique! 👍
Good little project for you lathe. Make a nice big knob for the valve, big enough to get a decent grip on. Couple of grub screws will hold it in place.
Glad you are OK after the fall Adam. However will admit it was quite amusing. Watched till the end when you lifted the Bamford. I've learned so much from your videos. Not keen on the auction videos, but I love all the ones when you are working on things. Best wishes to you and Rachel.
Hi Adam brilliant video watched to the end, when that frame snapped with you swinging on it was priceless 😂🤣great on slow motion 🤣,drill a small hole in that shaft on the release valve and put a pin 1/4 the way in to make a leaver 👍🏻will be watching the auction on sat hope you have a great day, keep the videos coming 👍🏻💯hope Mrs man cave is getting better ❤️🙂
Yes watched to end oil that came out of lift Jack is what got past Jack seals. Seals may need replacing asap or load will fall fast if seals go pop. Leave your weight on crane overnight see if it holds height till morning.
Hi Adam, That is a nice bit of kit that should help you no end have yourself a bench outside and just lift them on, The very best of luck in using the crane 🏗️ 🛠️🛠️🛠️⭐️👍👌.
If you drill a hole through the release valve and put a roll pin through it it will make it easier to turn it and wont risk damage to seals etc that welding a nut on would.
What an excellent video ……..😂😂😂😂ya don’t get comedy like that when you’re watching 🇺🇸videos. I’ve watched your channel for about 2 yrs ish and your always entertaining and a joy to see , many thanks
And i thought i would never see Tarzan in action again ( Aaaaaaaah , Eeeee yaaah , Aah Yaaaaah ) A good going over with a wire buff wheel , and some sympathetic anti rust paint and we are good for another 50 years at least .
Had me in stitches young man .I think the swk is rated half the max load .so you can dabble it basically. Keep up the good work. Hope misses man cave is recovering bless her .
Nicely done! It looks like that little screw in the side of the pump body might be in place to retain an inverted cup washer, which holds that release valve into the pump body. Removing the screw, might allow the release valve to come completely out if necessary. Watch out though for springs and ball check valves if you do this! (User of one of the bigger clarke cranes and that is blimmin heavy enough for me!)
Watched til the end, spat my brew out when you fell, hope you're not too sore, re name the channel " last of the summer Man cave" with compo fenn. Stay safe.
The falling of craine was EPIC oil rag the crane up and oil the rest of pivot points if it not going to be covered. Nice buy saves on back when loading trailer or mounting engines to a trailer Mrs ma cave approved....
Had to til the end just incase you fell on your *&&* again 😂 Surprised you cut a slot in the top of the shaft and weld a small plate in to make a butterfly key.
Every job has the right tool. Molegrips are rarely it ! If the molegrips were shredding the metal, should have stopped at once Adam. Can't fault your self taught knowledge but be nice to see some best practice 👍🏻 And stop buying & start fixing stuff, if you can find anything in your full & disorganised shack 🙏🏻
A great bit of kit that young man. It's not funny to see somebody fall, however, in this case it was very funny indeed! I have an Epco 1ton (1000kg) tubeular horseshoe base crane which is probably 45+years old, works brilliantly and is the nearest thing I have to a forklift truck. It's the best £150 I have spent in many a year. These big old engine cranes are brilliant kit compared to the modern foreign origin junk.
maybe you could set it on rails so the end of the jib would go in and out of your shed. and also have a way of backing your trailer under it. cheers, Jim in NZ
Really enjoyed the video. Watched to the end, liked and subscribed. My god, that frame breaking with you swinging on it was priceless :-) With a bit more fettling and elbow grease, you have a serious bit of kit their. All the best.
The valve spindle is in a bronze bush, which is turning. U se Plus Gas, its a better freeing agent I have an old Epco two ton engine crane, it has a Dowty pump unit on it, and the vertical spindle is the release valve. I use a Lathe Chuck for these jobs, it does less damage. Kaiser Kraft have a website, and many crane versions. Put a rubber boot on the valve when you do a proper job. The main hydraulic cylinder will be rated at eight to ten tons. The actual lift cylinder is underneath the one you took off, operated by the bent rod underneath.
Handy bit of kit to have. Just remember to cover it up when not using it and lube up the joints aswell. Don't want to see you playing at being Tarzan again.
Hi Adam havent you got a small pulley with a grub screw So you can file a flat on the shaft and use the pulley as a handle I hope Mrs Mancave is doing ok
Now go to the lathe and make a nice new knob for that valve. Bit of 1” alloy bar with a grub screw to lock it on the shaft. Should take an hour and make a good video
Yep! Watched to the end just I case there were any more acrobatics 😂😂😂😂 I'm still laughing 😂😂😂😂 But you need to get some lifting straps or at least a tow rope if you go cheap! But don't put any faith in that blue poly rope it's crap!
The blue rope looks like single use telephone cable draw rope, rated at 1000 kg. I’ve seen it snap many times with less tension on it, it’s not safe for lifting engines. 🧐
My word, Adam, you do have a big one! Where on Earth are you going to keep that for the 99.9% of the time when you're not playing with it? I might recommend installing a red light on the end of that thing, just to warn those low flying aeroplanes you have now become a hazard to aerial navigation!😅😊
Brilliant vlog and a laugh here and there..... Got to be careful with them things bits can fall of fail if your not careful.... But handy lump of kit,,,,,,,,, oh and keep doing the funny neck stretch just a bit of a laugh not doing any halm....... Cheers buddy
You could easily make a new knurled knob on your lathe using that aluminum rod you found sorting out your box of bits last week. PS please be more careful..last thing Rachel needs is for you to bugger yourself up.
Is it down to the quality of the hydraulic rams and seals as to how much weight it was rated for? the build itself and the steel looks plenty strong enough to lift more?
Whats the difference between a crane and a giraffe Adam ones got hydraulics and ones got high bollocks 😂 will lift your puch maxi 😂 nice find Adam don't put heat near hydraulic blocks can melt seals be carfull could cut a thread on that and put a knob on it little lock tight all the best to you and Mrs man cave❤
Just watch out for that reentry when you come into land, nad remember, your landing gear should be the first bit to make contact with the ground.. Now, serious bit, did you hurt yourself in that fall? Whether you hit the ground, or the steelwork, first, you can do yourself a nasty mischeif. Take care of yourself, and remember, none of us is getting any younger!
