It’s finally summer in Manchester, the sun is shining today and I couldn’t wait to go for a stroll around this wonderful city. We take a familiar route starting in St Peter’s Square, through Deansgate & to Castlefield basin along the canal. We end the walk in Canal street today, there’s so much life in the city, we also get a. Sneak peak at the Manchester Flower show as there are some displays at Tony Wilson Place already on show. There are some emergency services vehicles during the video with loud sirens and an alarm as we pass The Midland Hotel, just a warning if your sensitive to sudden loud noises. Otherwise this is a very chilled video the summer city vibes are here and everyone’s out enjoying the beautiful sunshine again! Enjoy the journey.
I created Come Walk Life as a place to share information, experiences & atmospheric journeys in interesting places. By subscribing to our channel you are supporting Come Walk Life and motivating me to continue to create these beautiful tours. Thank you for your support.
Binaural Audio - Our videos feature binaural directional audio which means you hear the surroundings as I heard them, the best way to experience this is by wearing earphones/headphones. Occasionally it’s necessary to replace sections of audio due to wind noise and copyright content, great care is taken to blend audio for the best experience.

All the beautiful buildings disappearing replaced by glass and steel a city that goes back to Roman times and all its history being eroded tragic

Can you film Albert square so we ca see what is left there

It’s always very sad to think of history disappearing, planners need to be sympathetic to historic buildings. Manchester is a great example of how architects can incorporate old and new, an example is what they did with the shambles and Exchange square. Thanks for watching 😀

I’m planning to tour Albert Square when it re-opens, its mostly been a construction site for the last couple of years, you can see it in a lot of our existing buildings with the town hall completely covered in scaffolding 🏗️

But that’s not happening! Nearly all the big new buildings are built on the sites of old surface car parks or light industrial estates. The worst time for the destruction of old buildings was during the second half of the last century - and they put up tacky timid little red brick blocks that were supposed to ‘blend in’. Personally, I enjoy the contrast between old and new and I think the city’s looking really good these days.

@@floswason8776 Albert Square is Eastenders, you're thinking of Coronation Street.
