Okay, I believe you; however, the original post is misleading in implying the owner's debt is Manchester United's debt. Profits are being retained to a lesser extent, sure, but that is not the same as the blatant fraud underlaid in the original comment. How he secured the loan or of its yield, and long run financial outlook, I do not know, but if it is making money, it was a good investment. And clearly if it is so the case, they generated profits from the club considerably higher than its initial value, that is an efficient outcome. There are likely pieces left out of the story, but from what I can gather, the Glazers or whoever, are unjustly persecuted by a rout of entitled fans. The club's success (whatever that is) is tied to their profits, and it seems there has been plenty of both. They are not here to run a passion project, and that, dare I say, is how it is supposed to be.

@@rufdymond Because he's the manager and what happens on the pitch directly affects this. He failed to get CL or to stay in the CL, or to even finish the CL group stages in a decent position. This costs money. He advised the club to waste £90m on Antony and another £60m on Mount. This is real money that has to come from somewhere.
