I remember jumping up and down with my Dad in the living room. Then screaming ‘we f’n won it’... I then rang my pals and we all went down the local pub in our old Everton tops! We drank the night away and stumbled home at all hours! Fantastic
Will never forget this day. Will never forget when Z cars started it was incredible. Just wish this was the final and not the semi. Semis should defo be played at Villa Park
The easiest run of Chelsea’s lives, Everton overcame some mental opposition in this campaign. We deserved that trophy more than anything. What a game this was and what a season we had 💙
Looking back at times like this..even if we didn’t win the final but the players we had. Depressing when you see the state we’re in at the min with that gravy head in charge 😞
@@_nx.14_17 agree. They weren't mercenaries, because we had no money, but they showed passion week in week out back then. They might not have been great players individually, but as a team they were absolutely brilliant. Hope we can have the same soon.
Just watching this shootout all over again, still makes me so proud to be a true blue.Yes i know we lost in the final against Chelsea BUT what a semi-final that was.E.T.I.D
Still brilliant today Phil Jagielka..1 of Evertons best centrebacks...With Leighton Baines both great professionals and will be 2 of the greatest but I also think this new lad Lucas Digne at left back is gonna be even better than Baines...EFCTID!!!!!
its mad how close united were to winning all 4 trophies that year, few better pens the difference, maybe Fergie shouldn't of underestimated Everton leaving out Rooney and Ronaldo
@mampz G No Ronaldo, Rooney, VanDerSar or Fletcher. All important for ManUtd that season. What annoys me is he plays a B-team for this game which cost a lot of that team an FAcup winners medal in their whole career somehow. Yet he played our strongest team in the PL at OldTrafford vs Liverpool which wasn't even important we were cruising in the PL the thought of Liverpool beating us twice that season including a thrashing I found funny because it means they lost the PL title by dropping 9 pts to newly promoted or eventual relegated teams (Hull, Stoke & Middlesbrough).
What memories, here I am watching Jags blast it in. I'm in tears, just the same as I was then, damn shame we had injuries, I'm certain we'd have won the final.
No chance mate I was there, they twatted us it should have been 6or7 to 2,Hilbert,osman and worst of all the captain shithead Neville a truly woeful footballer yet he was deemed good enough to be our captain, that my friends sums us up in a nutshell Phil fucking Neville as our club captain?blizzard.
Sukhdev,I will totally agree with you on the 3 main missing players typical of our luck plus coming up against the best team in Europe at that time,as soon as iniesta scored that last minute goal in their semi final I knew that was the cup gone, sorry mate I hated Neville playing for us I thought he was crap, that Wigan f.a. cup game at goodison,he must have had a bet on Wigan the way he played, not, that day.
@@tonynesbit9673 You can never fault the effort he put in though. Against Wigan he said himself he knew his legs were gone. We had some tough and some great times under Moyes but you reckon Ancelotti can bring great times back to Goodison?
Boss memories! Bainesys pen though!!! I was there.. and for the final against Chelsea too where we got quite soundly beaten to be fair but still a great day. Hopefully we can get back there again this season and finally get some silverware. Its been far too long!
Why the hell was Ferdinand told to take a penalty? Guy hasn't hit the goal in 20 years. Lazy effort from him. I hope to God this wasn't the match that made the board at Man Utd replace Ferguson with David Moyes after he retired... We have been struggling with coaches ever since he left. Wonder if it will ever be different. It's been the same for 12 years. We got massively downgraded with Moyes tactics and strategy for games. Ended up in the 7th place or something. Not very impressive. None of them have filled the spot and the gap Ferguson left behind.
I ran outside and jumped on me car bonnet roof and boot before running back on cheerin im 57 now couldnt do it now then again we probs wont get to s semi again in my life heres hoping tho
No chance of doing this again with the current squad (don't want to say team because we aren't one) and the Portuguese plum in charge. These were good times. We were a good team that was difficult to beat but now?, terrible, absolutely terrible.
