Rob stays in his own beloved city of Manchester for this watch prowl. He begins at the Arndale Centre, first at Beaverbrooks for a look at the Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 with the new gradient dial, then on to Chisholm Hunter to try on the Citizen Zenshin Titanium and the Longines Legend Diver.
Next, on to St Ann's Square, first at Bremont for the new Terra Nova then across the way to Watches of Switzerland for the H Moser & Cie Streamliner Tourbillon with a spectacular sapphire bezel. A quick glance at the windows of David M Robinson Jewellers and on to Goldsmiths to see the Chopard Mille Miglia and the Piaget Polo Chronograph. Next door to the Breitling Boutique for the Navitimer B12 Chronograph Cosmonaute and the Omega Boutique for the America's Cup Seamaster Diver 300M.
A well-deserved Vietnamese lunch break at I am Pho before getting back to St Ann's Square via King Street to see the future AP House (Audemars Piguet) and a quick window glance at the Patek Philippes at Boodles. We went into Rockefellers Jewellers and tried on five pre-owned classics including two Rolex Daytonas, an AP Royal Oak, a gold Vacheron Constantin Overseas and a Patek Philippe Aquanaut. And finally, a stop at the Tudor Boutique for a surprise viewing of the intriguing Black Bay P01.
Sometimes staying close to home yields good surprises!
