Incredible job… by far the best finish work I’ve ever seen. I was curious on how you masked off the ears for the high lights. Do you paint them with the alumaluster, then mask them off and spray again to make the brighter area, or do you clear it first, then mask, then spray it, and clear it one final time. Curious if the tape pulls the alumaluster off
Yeah I just taped and spayed more Alumaluster, the more you use the brighter it gets. I happen to clear this time only because I had forgot to do the ears, but I want to say it very out tape on protected Alumaluster before without issue.
Your alumaluster application is great! Ive gotta ask, because I am having such a hard time finding any info online, do you have any advice or tips about spraying it. I have a mini HPLV touch up gun gun and i have a proper automotive spray gun. any tips on nozzle size? PSI to spray it at? distance from the part? fluid or fan settings? dry times? anything? lol I really love your work on this! Thank you!
Check out Darryl @offearth3d channel for a how to video, that’s who I learned from, he great! I used a touch up, want to say a .8mm needle at ~30-35psi. Honestly it’s way more forgiving than you would expect, I’ve done ultra light passes and too heavy, but it always kinda still looks great. I did a RU-vid live a few videos earlier than this one. I was painting some inquisitor masks, but you can watch me spray real time to get better sense of application maybe.
