This literally mixes the Alternate and the whole 'jesus cartoony' parts of the Mandela Catalogue together. Which is a really nice touch. I like the song too, really old-timey, which is also what the animation pictured perfectly.

@@Brasma I had a scenario in my head that involves this song, basically a man is singing this, then when the chuckle happened him and his alternate swapped with eachother, this is happening while alternates are coming to the stage, he set up the concert to bring everybody there, he made a deal with his alternate to sing that song to bring everybody to their alternates, the alternate ends up betraying him though and killing him after the concert is done

You managed to match the pure horror of the Mandela Catalouge with a cartoony sheep and a little ditty song. That is IMMENSLY impressive. This is the FIRST time a song has caused me to feel fear. The sheep is just a cartton and yet when it's replaced, the unblinking smile not only matches the inherent creepiness of the "unnatural" look of alternates, but also immediately lets us know what happened before we even see the window. 10/10 my guy!

This is the best and first music video I seen based of the series. It has original characters. It stays with the original plot but does not reuse any character already in the series. The jumpscare is not really loud and alarming so I can listen to this banger on loop. Overall the song and the music video are very great masterpieces.

The normal sheep at the beginning just represents a normal person, before meeting an alternate. The worried version of them is probably feeling strange due to an alternates presence. The sheep thats keeping their hat down is probably a more confident version that won't be affected by an alternate, and the alternate itself kills the normal sheep, because they were affected too much. if your reading this, your a fart smella

I love the symbolism in this 1. "Fire rains in my heart" this is how the Devil is taken out at the end. 2. An alternate taking the form a the lamb, a common symbol for Jesus, refrencing how Satan is assuming the role of God in MC 3. I’m a bit late, but I spent forever analyzing the last two lines of the song before I (think I) finally understood the meanings. “troll face” pointed out in another comment that the second time the sheep shows up with a hat, the animation is suddenly smoother, the difference referencing that theyre now the alternate. But this is also supported by that first line, “you’ve lost your touch - you’re not what you seem.” The two-frame dance more fit old cartoons, like this takes place in, and so “lost your touch” is somebody else actively noticing that something about the sheep is wrong. As for the second line, I really like it. “Humanity’s chasing shadows - why do you gleam?” In other lines, we see that “humanity’s lost its trust” with nobody knowing if the other person on the street is their friend, or if their friend is dead. “Families taking second glances.” People accuse everybody around them of being alternates and lock themselves away to hide from an imaginary threat they created from their own fear - “chasing their shadows,” as it were. Meanwhile, NOBODY suspects anything about the REAL alternates, since they’re so focused on the shadows they don’t notice the things that “gleam.”

Imagine if this played in an episode. Everywhere in the house, the TVs are playing this to mess with someone, playing in different spots as someone goes insane at a “singing” Alternate that slowly pries at your personal life with their psychological tricks and songs. How hurtful would it be to hear the lyrics being told to someone that just lost someone or notices the voice to be that of a lost friend. Oof. I just wanna build on the Santino Coronel comment with my own theory: I think the repetition of the “goes round” by the new voice could be the alternate trying to add more to the song to try and make it look like nothing changed, only for it to backfire and make the song sound more distant from the original, making it more obvious this is an alternate. The same can be said about the new instruments and sounds in the background adding a more gleeful feeling, which could be used to cover up the alternates take over.

It's more creepy when you see the sheep's hand sticking out the window and that the alternates off their victims by psychologicaly messing with them causing them to go M.A.D until they just had enough of it and decided to off themselves, with that logic and the broken window, the sheep most likely tried to beat itself to death, failed to do so then used the glass to finish the job. Best thing is - it actually tells MC lore. The main concept of stealing identity. "Humanity Lost It's Trust" is a great line, showing that you shouldn't believe anybody in Mandela Catalogue. "You feel all alone" represents moment when Mark gets locked in room by alternative. You realize that no one is here to help, even the police. Last "Families taking second glances" moment represents moment when you exit the safety room. You realize it's the end, so it's so quite now. And as final: Alternative Lamb moment. Lamb pretends to be happy and peaceful, but it makes you fell for it. "Goes round, goes round, goes round" sounds same as "I Got A Present For You-You-You!". Btw, "Families taking second glances Humanity's Lost It's Trust" sounds good :>

HOLY SH*T I JUST REALIZED This whole song is about Noah's ark and the first Alternate! The sheep represents Noah, piloting his ark, likely taking place after Satan (disguised as Gabriel), getting mad at Noah for ignoring his message. He then sneaks the first ever alternate (Possibly N himself) onto the ark, which is why we don't see N at first, until it is "too late" (Satan's words), which is why we see N for the rest of the song. He causes the sheep to go M.A.D., killing himself or N killing him, then eventually leading to N taking Christ's place in reality. However, in Mandela Catalogue, Noah didn't kill himself immediately, and actually resisted the first Alternate, allowing for the ark to be constructed and used to save everything. This is represented by the fact that we see N present in the back window for a WHILE before the sheep gets replaced. Noah may have been the first to go M.A.D., but he was also the most resilient, and thanks to that, we still live in this day and age. But that doesn't negate the fact that N did, in the end, get the better of Noah, and took control of the ark. Setting all of the future events up to, including, and beyond MC Vol. 2.

I think that instead of N, the first alternate was actually 6/The Intruder/The Snatcher, cuz as you can see in a moment of the music, it is shows a reflection of the sheep in a mirror (The Intruder is a Tupa, a subspecies of Alternates that can teleport themselves using mirrors and TVs)

Holy shit, I love this and its so unnerving at the same time It feels like the entire song is a leadup to something, anything about to happen. Just a release of some kind, even if its someone dying. But then it doesn't come. And it keeps not coming, and even when it comes its glossed over and it continues to build up. Its like the song is constantly resting on the edge of a plateau. Ready to soar. Waiting to jump, even if they know they can't survive it. It almost makes me understand how Mark must've felt in his last moments. Constantly torture, anticipation leaving his brain in constantly fight or flight mode waiting for something. Nothing comes. No help. No end. Not even death, the alternate continuing to torture him from beyond his walls. Until he snaps. He jumps. He shoots. Honestly the fact that you captured Mark's offscreen death into song's flow this much is amazing, well done truly.

this is AWESOME, it's a really catchy song, it captures the real old-timey feeling aswell and the animation helps a ton with that too. very nice mix of including a original character and yet still telling the premise of the mandela catalogue perfectly.

Yo yo yo here for my periodic visit, still your greatest masterpiece. Recently rewatched the ol' Catalogue too and now it hits even harder. I must say that the final scene where the lamb is finally replaced and tries to lighten the scene back up with an eerie smile, while you know something is horribly horribly wrong, is so horrifying. It's cinematic. And you just did it for the video. But it might as well be a real episode of the Mandela Catalogue.

Holy shit, this is a great song. I don't have much to say, I didn't expect it to be great, but my expectations was blown away. I think it even works outside of a Mandela Catalogue setting unlike most other fansongs, so that makes this even better. Like, you could call this an OG song and I'd believe you. (I mean OG song as in "not fan song") Also I have an original character that'd definitely sing this song word for word especially the "cry for help you can try to deny" part, so that's a plus. Good luck on getting Alex to notice your work. Edit: Alex noticed it and this video got 100k views! Woohoo!
