The crowds welcomed Nelson Mandela's wife Graca Machel today into the FNB stadium for the Memorial ceremony. She was followed by his former wife Winnie Madikizela. What followed was a powerful moment when the two of them hugged and the shutterbugs went haywire to get a shot of the two together.

What a gracious woman is Graca Mandela, embracing Winnie Mandela with so much of LOVE ! After seeing this video clip, I listened to the song, "The way we were" by Barbara Streisand which says if we were given the chance to live our lives again, could we do it differently !

Well we dont need to thank anyone for embracing Winnie. Winnie was and always will be the mother of South Africa. She earned that role. She deserved to be there more than anyone in that stadium. She build that name, natured it and made it worldwide recognised. Hence the world romanticize mandela as if he is the only one who fought and freed South Africa. In that process down playing the role played by the men Who Actually Stayed 27 years in Actual Prison. Not 24 years. So Winnie is the rightful person there. People have mentioned also the role played by their party behind the scenes in breaking up Mr Mandela and Winnie. Lets just say there were those who said mandela loved his popularity to the point of betraying Winnie. Forgetting Winnie sustained his name and image in the world more than the other wives of the robin island prisoners.
