Great video and has helped me decide over the transducer type with all the sticking tape inside deal and drilling out the end pin. I use two mandolins and this makes it easy to switch with the instrument. Yes, one is a Colling and I can tell the sound from yours matches the instrument with the mic pickup. Going to order one.
After years finally got a tone I'm happy with. Myers feather clip on for the highs and k&k twin spot internal for the lows, blended by a Pigtronix Real Deal that I got cheap. I recommend this setup! The Pigtronix has a sweepable frequency filter that lets you take all highs from the mini mic and all lows from the twin spot. Finally a good amplified sound!
There's never any question that a microphone sounds better than a pickup. The issues to be dealt with are feedback & bleed. If the pickup pattern and placement of the Feather deals with those, then "you got-a something!"

Hello Christopher, let me find that out for you. Lincoln shot this video for us and I believe the song at the end may be some original content from his band The Arcadian Wild.
