Rent-a-car need to be convert into taxis in the state, as soon as possible, Because of this domestic tourist driving style state people's life in danger and infrastructure also danger . 1.Not following traffic rules . 2. Rent-a-car driving very very ruff manners 3. Damaging infrastructure. 4. Putting life in danger of human. 5. Traffic jam. 6. Wastage of time, petrol, diesel 7. Because of 1 person destroy life 1000 people's NO RENT-A-CAR AND RENT-A-SCOOTERS IN THE STATE.
Totally true! People drive rashly in most states of this country. Goa has different roads, different driving discipline. Drivers from outside drive like maniacs and destroy lives here. This needs immediate attention and regulation!
If they take Taxis, it will put more money in the hands of Goans and will improve the economy! It will cut down on CHEAP TOURISTS who offer no value to Goa and infact creates only misery!! It means less congestion on the roads. Less traffic. Less pollution etc. This is the best solution!!! Goa is not Delhi or Mumbai or Kolkata. It cannot continue to have more and more cheap domestic tourists who do not help Goa, but instead make Goa unattractive to the International tourists who come with money to spend. It will take us back to what Goa was at the beginning when International tourists returned year after year. Right now the Tourism Department has to keep finding more and more new customers but they come to Goa and see how crowded it is, just like Delhi or Kolkata and they do not want to return!!! Time to do the right thing! I would encourage all Goans to go on to the streets and demand this change!!
I blame the government for not being able to provide a cheap and reasonable transportation system in the state... It's cheaper to fly to Mumbai then take a taxi to the airport..... Rent a cab is a reasonable way of transportation
If you think mumbai flight is cheaper then goa airport taxi....and all goa taxi from goa is very costly then bring your own car from Mumbai....it will be cheaper...bcoz you said flight is cheaper then goa taxi...your money will be save....people like you ...can only talk...for hotels villas restaurant....bady massage for pubs...people pay whatever they charge.....I Only taxi people looting you guys in goa......so better bring your own cars save your money

Dur to lack of public transportation in the state the Goan house owns multiple vehicles to travel around the State not out of joy but compulsion.... Taxi mafia , fish mkt mafia , sand mafia are common things in Goa looting the common people with out hesitation giving such high unreasonable rates.. so yes there it a problem in local transportation system in the state which u need to except..... We have no issue if he keeps his license, you cant drive in jail. This statement is totally irresponsible by whoever made it. Well what he just said was that if you want to take revenge on someone , come to goa and rent a car and the owner will pays the price.
Why only rent a car , what about yellow plate taxis, they are also culprits for rough driving and overtaking. Should government not take any action against them
Inspite of knowing everything these some Drivers who are taking on Rent a car are driving in any maner as per their own wish due to which common People moving on Road or People moving with their vehicle on Road are find it very difficult because every now and then we see that The Drivers who take Rent A car mostly commit accidents and common people are facing lots of hardship without their fault and for no Reason.So the question is ,whether there is any Need to worry or No need to worry ,or Non of these .
Shemdya you said the govt. Don't have any money... Where the money go that comes from the challans charged by the Traffic police? You think by cancelling the drivers licence is gonna get that person back? Ask both the driver and the owner to look after the family of the deceased for the lifetime from now. Whatever their needs are they had to take care... Otherwise this is gonna continue and we will be at the receiving end always. The driver will pay some ransum amount and go. The owner rents the car, takes the payment and is bindass putting all our lives in danger.
Other state tourist thinks that driving in their state is same as in Goa. Some state drivers don't follow rules displine in their state same they do in Goa also and this type accident hapens
Licence cancell is not a enough justice, new licence will get him within 8 days after bribe, it is murder case , he should be in Jail and fine of lakhs , to pay deceased family atleast 50 lakhs.
Not only licence of driver to be cancelled but also of rent a car owner, with punishment of jail. Life of a person will never come back. So penalty should be very strong. Mauvin is not fit to be a minister only partiality to migrants
Stop ALL Domestic Tourists driving in Goa. Instead make them take Taxis and keep Goans safe!!! Also it will help Goa's economy and put money in pockets of Goans. It will reduce cheap Tourists who bring no value to Goa except more congestion in Goa. This forces International tourists with money to actually want to return to come to Goa, as it will not be so crowded. We are a very small State. We have a CARRYING LIMIT!!! Too many damn Outsiders in Goa, causing deaths and misery in Goa. But the dumb government is too foolish. They will not do it!! I urge all Goans to please for a CARRYING LIMIT for Goa. Only allow a few cars into Goa every day. And no rent-a-car service for Domestic Tourists unless they are living In Goa for more than 1 month. It will stop all the CHEAP tourists coming to Goa and creating a nuisance for everyone living in Goa. It will stop the deaths of Goans. It will stop traffic congestion. Emergency vehicles will also be able to pass through. It will reduce pollution with less cars sitting in traffic. It will be a WIN-WIN situation for Goa. Check every rent a cab vehicle, whoever has not fitted spead governor you can cancel their license if there is rule made of compulsory spead governor have to have in every car.
The driver shud pay the deceased family atleast 50-75 lakh rupees. Because he has taken the life of someone. Plus he should be imprisoned for atleast 10-20 years. Driver should be banned in the state of Goa for life.

I'm sure the Minister of Transport is knowledgeable and is constantly advised by the Directorate of Transport, Traffic Cell, Advisory Groups etc especially on road safety. In this incident would the impact to the bike rider be lesser if the speed of the 4wheeler was lower? I now understand why 2wheelers are not allowed on the new Atul Sethu Bridge and lower speed limits are enforced over bridges.
You are the Minister of Transport. If there is a department handling the issue of licences to rent-a cars etc. The minute a licence is issued the record should be available. Why is it such a major task to find out how many there are in Goa, etc etc. Do your computers not work? Or are your fingers stuck elsewhere? It pathetic to watch how every department of the government is being run! In the meantime Goans are being killed on our roads, the illegalities are mounting and all the people can witness is our kings getting richer and richer without doing what they have been appointed to do.
Mauvin,has the govt.issued guidelines to the rent a car service providers ? Licence to operate given on payment of bribes.Standard form should be issued to takers of rent a car.They should sign it and take full responsibility to drive safely.
I think if taxi service is available in Goa also Goa miles are giving service with good and trained driver... Then y Govt is allowing these rent a cab??? Govt should stop this rent a cab buisness and should only focus on taxi and Goa miles...
The Driver should be be sentenced to life Imprisonment....He has taken a Innocent Life.....
