Mandy Harvey - This Time 

So Mandy came to my school the other day and she's just the sweetest soul...omg she transcends her suffering like a champ and I'm addicted to her music!

I'm deaf, but not from birth so I know what things sound like. When I get upset, I try to sing to calm myself down, but every time I just feel worse because I know I don't sound right. I wasn't gonna win any awards before I lost my hearing, but I could carry a tune. I'm a musical theatre nerd who can't hear the music, so I can kiss any hope of getting the lead good bye. But Mandy shows me that, while it is difficult, it is decidedly not impossible. I appreciate that so much.

This was one of my favorites from AGT. I'm a 51yr old homeless using a phone I found in a dumpster, roaming around from street to street constantly looking for a WiFi connection so I can watch RU-vid videos. After 30 plus years of addiction and alcoholism, I was begging for the ultimate end. I had it all planned. Then I found a video of a deaf singer and motivational speaker. In a short speech, one line has stuck, "I haven't found that good place yet, but I can see it...... don't give up just because it's difficult". I've been clean and sober for over two years. It's been difficult and I'm not in that good place yet. But I can see it, and I can't give up just because it's difficult. Mandy changed my life; saved my life. It may not seem like much, but it changed the world because I'm still in it and a better person than I was. May God forgive me for the time I've wasted Thanks for being you Mandy

I came straight to this video from her golden buzzer performance. Not only is it an amazing song and video, but what a beautiful woman she has grown into. The world needs to know her more.

I bought my Mother the box set of Mandy Harvey's CD's for Christmas and explained to her that this woman has our disease (nerve deafness; we both wear powerful hearing aids) but that she got sick and actually lost all her hearing but still sings better than most hearing people. My Mom can't get over how she never knew about this great Jazz/Pop-Rock singer. I love this video because it shows how deaf and hard of hearing people "hear" and speak through vibrations and confidence in their voice. God bless Mandy Harvey.

I’m crying because this video has subtitles. I’m hard of hearing, and I’ve had to fight all my life for subtitles for audiovisual material used in school. It’s been an uphill battle. Most auto generated subtitles aren’t always accurate. The fact that this video has subtitles...it blows me out of the water. ❤️ Grateful for you Mandy

Being able to sing like that.. despite all she's been through. It really does show that the only thing that stands in your way is you and only you... If you really want to and you have enough passion for what you do, she is proving that everything is possible.
