I'm 32 and feel like I've wasted my life. I haven't done anything since graduating besides work and buy a house. Has me questioning what the point of it all even is... bust your ass so that one day you don't have to.. but by that time you're old and life's already over. I'll actually probably be able to retire by 45.. but still, pretty much ancient at that point. Where did all the time go... The years start coming and they don't stop coming.

Record companies stopped making this commercial Pop and R&B by 2010. They decided that they had "lost the war" against illegal digital streaming music. They shut down specialist divisions in Pop, Soul and R&B and Rap and Hip-Hop, in fact most styles of music except Country. This meant that new acts were not handled with unique teams of A&Rs, executives, songwriters, producers, stylists and media training and PR. They even stopped organizing tours and TV concerts to promote new talent on children's cable TV channels and weekend network TV. Now record companies sign acts only if they have their own established popularity from social media and some talent. They will then either be hands off with them or too hands on with their career.

lol, everyone thinks their era was the best. IMO the most likely scenario? childhood were the best years. nostalgia -- for a lot of people. i hear the same words from people older than us and a decade younger than us (we're in our 30s) -- "oh the 70s were the best" "the 80s were the simpler times" "oh the 2010s were the best" I think lot of it is when we had very little responsibility and not much to stress us out compared to when we're adults. all that being said -- love this song :D

The nostalgia is killing me right now. I remember being hesitant on Mandy because I felt like she was a wannabe Christina or Brittney but Mandy was cute and I actually thinks she looked best with blonde hair which is weird because I think dark hair always looks better when people go dark. It was most likely her label that tried that image with her because they thought she could be the next big pop star like them. These songs were written and given to her to sing by the labels, they chose it for her for a reason, and chose to do her hair like that etc. The labels have a large say, especially if you're that young and they signed you to make money

I always knew her as an actress, she's amazing. I didn't think she could sing that well, until I heard her singing in This is Us. Back then it was all about Britney Spears, so I never heard her songs, but I should've. She deserves a lot more attention.

She released two albums in 2007 and 2009 that reestablished her as more of an indie/folk-y singer-songwriter. I really recommend the album Wild Hope. And 2009's "Amanda Leigh" will surprise you. There are some straight-up classic 70s folk and country vibes on that record. When she abandoned the bubblegum pop sound and went in her own direction (and started writing her own songs), she made some great music that deserves more attention. I also recommend her 2003 covers album "Coverage", which was her first attempt to take more control over her sound. That album was my childhood and it got me into more "alternative" forms of music. She hasn't released an album since 2009, but I hope that she comes out with something soon.

So Mandy got discovered because when she was around the ages of 12-14 she began singing the national anthem for local sports in her town and with that two gentleman offered her a chance to record some of their original songs at a studio to create a demo to send off to people. At the studio.. a FedEx deliver heard her singing and had a friend of a friend of a friend, lol, who sent her demo to an man in NYC who flew down to Orlando to hear her sing live, and with that she was signed to a record deal at 15... and the rest is history. This is her first single
