Mandy Moore album LOL.. that candy track was the shit but ... my only hope is the song I love . Yass, if he doesn’t win.. he should pull a Kayne west and say he had the greatest performance of all time in a limited series show. I actually missed seeing his face .
AGREE! I have a tweet that I posted the day I watched the premiere which was pretty early in the tv season and I said there’s no way Darren wasn’t gonna win Best Lead Actor in a Limited Series at the Emmys this year. He’s got the nomination so I am pretty confident that I was correct !
I’m so in love with how present Mandy seems in this.. first of all, always been a fan of hers but she’s such a goldmine! Like absolutely precious, ya know? I love how as he talks she makes affirmative remarks to ensure he knows she’s listening like “yes!” “sure” & “oh! thank you” lol she’s just a gem, man.
Soooooo is anyone going to mention the fact that Darren is hard-core crushing on Mandy? His words and facial expressions are screaming "I've been in love with you for 15 years"...can you really blame him though? She's seriously the sweetest.
Avaneesh M I’m still not convinced by her portrayal of Rebecca in her 60s, but she is doing well otherwise. The problem is that category is very competitive. If you nominate her, who do you leave out? Claire Foy? Elizabeth Moss? Evan Rachel Wood? Thandie Newton? Sandra Oh? Lena Headley? Robin Wright? Maggie Gyllenhaal? Keri Russel? I could probably list another 10 performances that were arguably stronger. We really are spoiled with the quality of shows airing now.
Yes she was amazing in that therapy scene. It's one of my favorite scenes in the whole show. But she probably submitted either the episode where Jack dies or the episode right after (but most likely Jack's death).
I'm so pleased my embarrassing high school crush turned out to be invested in such a quality human being. Can't wait to see what Darren does next! Also Mandy is bae forever and ever amen.
My childhood in a nutshell. 😍 Also, I totally get Darren. He did say in one interview that he fears being misunderstood. Possibly why he speaks the way he does.
After the telephone interlude was quit breaking my heart Darren Criss Mandy is one of my favourite singers ever and is one of my favourite actresses. Tangled A walk to remember Chasing Liberty Are my favourites
Love them both, but I was most interested in hearing Darrens take on Ryan M and Versace. Versace is the best show i've seen in awhile and Darren's acting was outstanding! Well deserved emmy nomination for lead role!
That was a great Actor on Actor! I love Mandy Moore soooo much, I could listen to her speak all day! :) When Darren said something about if he made a good impression on someone on Glee he would be glad, I just want to say, Darren, if you're reading this, you were my favorite character, you made me want to do musical theater and you made me feel confident in my skin. Thank you for your influence, you had a great one on me xx
I’m not a big fan of either of these two, but I have to say this has been one of the more pleasurable Actor on Actor sessions. I really love how knowledgeable each was of the others work and neither interrupted the other as they talked. Also both are well spoken - no “uhhhs,” “you knows,” “ummms,” which i appreciate.
I was going to comment about how great that two Disney voice actors are on! And I had to remind myself that Darren has not voiced or (officially) played a Disney character YET
Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist were also on Glee and they, too, are great singers/actors. Chriss actually played the character Music Meister of the Flash and on Supergirl. All of them are so blessed to have gotten to perform for the fans.
Omg that's true I love Many Moore's music -- it's part of my childhooooooood she has no single idea how much my sisters and I love her! So Mandy, don't be embarrassed, we exist!!!
Love both of them! It's a great pairing too because they both started off with music in their own ways, moved to their big things that were all the rage in the day and then kind of dropped off the radar in terms of work for a while and then re-emerged with fantastic performances. Great choice, Variety, and really interesting to hear how thoughtful they are about their craft.
The Assassination of Gianni Versace is legitimately AMAZING. Darren Criss is EXTRAORDINARY as Andrew Cunanan and if you want to see truely breathtaking acting, watch Darren as Andrew. I am so serious the show is a masterpiece. *I also like This Is Us a lot😝
I wonder if there are a ton of bloopers from This Is Us , because they have to laugh at how ridiculously sad and constantly articulating their feelings they always are.
I haven't seen Versace yet and I know its going to be great because Darren is and Ryan is, but there is just something so special about This Is Us, even hearing Mandy talk about it brings tears to my eyes
I wish someone would tell her "My favorite music you've done was the 'Amanda Leigh' album or 'Wild hope'.." It's always the popstuff they refer to. She has done incredible music and she needs to be motivated to keep it going cause she's amazing!
I love Wild Hope till today, and I dont even know her previous pop stuff (maybe the biggest hits if I hear it), but this album I listen to it till today
I love both of them. I was am a devoted This is Us fan. I never missed an episode, ever! And I even rewatched the series on Hulu. I cried so much during the entire series. My friend would watch it with me and he'd see me crying and be like girl you gotta stop. You know what's going to happen. Even with glee. I cried during so many episodes. I can't watch the quarterback episode without completely breaking down.
She is just a DELIGHT. But I wish she would get SOME recognition for her Wild Hope and Amanda Leigh albums. They are flawless works of musical art and she doesn’t get any credit for them!!
Mandy is smart and seasoned. I love you Mandy. Darren, I'm a huge fan. I hope you visit the Philippines and do concert, I will definitely watch your show.
For what it's worth, he grew up in San Francisco doing theater much of his life with a bunch of gay guys, so I mean.. yeah, he's quite a bit more in touch with gay culture and all that than your typical straight guy :P He still does indeed identify as straight though, and I stand by respecting that. But anyway, my impression is that Tyler Garrity 's comment isn't based around the assumption that Darren is gay so much as that he is a total hottie and I'm sure he has helped plenty of non-straight boys to realize they're not straight xD
Well, he has a girlfriend, that's why I'm saying he's not gay. But if I didn't know he had one, I'd definitely think he's gay, like 99%. He doesn't act much gay tbh tho
I am late to the party, binge watched Versace the last weekend. Criss acts like an animal! He is a great actor and seeing this interview, he is a cool guy! Greetings from Germany
She was on an ep of how I met your mother during the quiet period, she deserves more success than ANYBODY are you kidding me she's the most lovable human ever
@@diskeyes He was Kurt Hummels boyfriend, Hedwig and Andrew Cunanan. Shouldn't there be a more advanced word? Metrosexual used to mean he had his hair and nails done at a salon.
I respected his claimed heterosexuality. Pretty boy- fine. Youthful- fine. Not buff- fine. Soft fine. Keeps playing gay roles- fine. Fine until he told Mandy Moore how much he loved her first album 0_O... NOPE something doesn't add up here. SHE doesn't even like it lol. It's ok if you're 10-20% Bi Darren not enough guys are out of the closet as mostly straight but bi. But this straight nonsense. Common!
People from Cebu, where his mother is from look more white than the dark-skinned Filipino/Filipina where my dad came from on the main island of Luzon. I too am half-Filipino, because my dad came from the Balayan, Batangas. My great-grandfather on his side is from China.
This is the best thing that has happened to me today. I bought the So Real album from Sam Goody even though I really only liked Candy and one other song I forgot (not Walk Me Home). I think it's a little hilarious that she hates it, but at the same time lots of people worked hard on that, so... Glee is still one of my favorite shows even though the last three seasons were questionable. Seeing this makes me wish they did a Mandy Moore cover, but I can't think of which one. Maybe Wanna Be with You?
I had a full on moment when they were talking about their age. When Darren was like "I know I'm only a few years younger than you" so I looked up his age and was like "whoa I thought I was only a few years younger than him" and I still am, I'm just not great at accepting how old I'm getting xD This is all happening too fast lmao
