one of the best movies ever made. i sound trite, but i really feel this way. I was completely lost in this incredible, beautiful world and didn't want to leave. that ending matte painting was the perfect finish. Unbelievable.
You put it perfectly "lost in this incredible, beautiful world". After seeing this film for the first time, I immediately googled Shadow Mountains because I wanted to believe that such world existed. And the Reagan speech, for real! Red was such a nice guy, he lived an honest, hard working and violence free life ( and ended up being a gang/fucked up cult victim ), but he wouldn´t put up with those evangelical speeches.
This movie was beautiful. It's been a long time since I've seen a unique horror film like this and I'm so please with Panos. He is a genius filmmaker and he has a very creative vision of films. Great job!
Thank you for posting this. Great questions from Kevin which is no surprise he's a filmmaker. Especially the question if the finished product was the same as the one in conception. Cage shares lots of personal stuff here its wonderful to compare it to other interviews.
WHAT MAKES ALL FOUR OF THESE GENTLEMAN GREAT IS THERE WILLINGNESS TO EXPLORE AND TAKE RISKS. I RESPECT EVERY ONE OF THEM. THANK YOU FOR THIS AWSOME UPLOUD. PEACE.😊
Saw this movie on Halloween. Bought it immediately after. So good. So perfect. I've loved film my whole life, and this is by far one of my favorite films.

I'm so glad to see people actually appreciating this film finally!! Love Panos Cosmatos!!! 💜 Such a treat to see this, instead of the usual commentary.
The first hour is the most amazing piece of filmmaking I've seen in years. The second hour not so much. But overall I greatly respect the crazy brilliant mind of Panos.
I don’t dislike the first half of the movie but I think it improved dramatically after Mandy’s death. Love the movie. Interesting how people with clearly different tastes can find different things to enjoy in the same film.
So glad to see this. Great questions asked by K. Smith, wonderful answers from all. I think I have to say that Linus Roache's performance was my favourite in this film and hearing his answers almost surprises me when comparing them to his performance; He really portrayed something outside of himself.
The best part of watching a good movie is going on RU-vid and watching all the awesome press and Q&A stuff for it. I honestly couldn't be more happy to see this up here, and with Kevin Smith no less. Thanks for uploading.
Andrea Riseborough is an incredible actress. I’ve always liked her but the first time I was truly mesmerised by her was in _National Treasure_ with Robbie Coltrane and Julie Walters.
The scene were they portrait the influence of drugs, has to be the most accurate one. One of my friends wasn’t sure if we gave him any drugs before watching it, completely surreal.
Panos talks about creating films the same way Harmony Korine does... combining thoughts, images, sounds, colors into scenes and finding the narrative around those things.
yeah, I think a lot of people can relate to what he's saying. Because he expresses all his feelings, a lot of people think seems weird, but a lot of us actually experience these feelings too.
My fave film of 2018 and something different than another remake, another sequel/remake/reboot/prequel to a dead horse franchise that needs to die already like Elm Street/Texas Chainsaw Massacre/Saw/Hellraiser etc., another ghost film, another found footage etc. Excellent horror film from the year besides Quiet Place as both are completely different than the norm. This reminds me of Heavy Metal 1981, Mother's Day 1980, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1 and 2, Rob Zombie's Devil's Rejects, Hills Have Eyes and Mad Max with great visuals, great performances, good direction and pure brilliance.

"I've seen that... the power of the individual who believes they're enlightened, and they're actually a narcissist And... It's scary" So true. People who are sipping on their own flavor-aid way too much!
I loved Tusk. I hope Panos laughter was praising Tusk. It sounded very teasing. But 2 great director's together. I'm guessing they play off each other pretty well.

Here's some WILD HINTS to help you DECODE MANDY: If you want to understand the wild ending, theres a couple "magical realism" books from the 1980s you should read. I'll give you a clue about one important but obscure novel in particular: MARK TWAIN, 1986. (Need more? Look at the number on Red (Nic Cage)'s favorite T-Shirt!) The book referenced reveals a LOT about what's really going on in "MANDY" and where Red is at the end of the story. ALSO: the villain's full name JEREMIAH SAND is a secret anagram that explains a lot of the film's backstory and religious themes, especially in connection with the evil cult. ("JEREMIAH SAND" = "HE IS _________." It's creepy when you get it! Want one more clue to understanding "Mandy"? Consider this -- "MANDY" is actually supposed to be short for "MARY MAGDALENE." And "Crystal Lake" is also a reference to the "crystal waters" of the SEA OF GALILEE (really a lake) where Mary Magdalene went fishing w/ Jesus (as Red and Mandy do in the movie) and later lived next to after the Resurrection. Don't believe me? Check out all the biblical reference and direct quotes that the movie uses in connection w/ Mary Magdalene. And BTW -- If you take the letters M-A-N-D-Y out of her name, in fact, the remaining letters spell "MALE RAGE." Oh, and Did you catch the sketch by Mandy that was included at the end of the movie after the credits? If so, this Mary Magdalene representation sketch might look familiar: in.pinterest.com/pin/421508846371556607/

He is way better then actor like Keanu Reeves , the difference is Cage is good but over the top and on the other hand Keanu is bad but subtle Keanu was on the verge of becoming a Internet meme some where around 2010, he was fortunate to get John Wick movie iin 2014 which saved him from becoming a Internet meme for the rest of his life.
