Ja die 60er Jahre waren die schönsten In meinem Leben. Da gab es noch Musikgruppen und deren Musik ,welche man sich auch heute noch gerne anhört und ansieht. Super.
I was a teenager in the 70 s .Remember all Manfred Mann’s songs from my child hood. Its only when I’m older I can appreciate how good a band they were. When you were a child you knew the music but didn’t know who the bands were.
Hello ,my sentiments exactly ,when I was a kid I knew about them ,but now I'm old I realised what a quality band they are .If they were a Painter they would be like Van Gough
And yet another great band from my youth.Loved this song used to drive my father insane playing and singing along with it all the time.We need these happy tunes to get us through 2020,bring them back...
Music was great Music videos, not so much 😆 Judged in the 2020s this is so camp & amateurish it's laughable. I know the norm in those days was "doing the overbite shuffle with big hair and bellbottoms" but this... this is embarrassing.
Singer Mike d' Abo is excellent, has a good voice, moves well on stage and is stylishly dressed and Manfred Mann is a great keyboard player, no wonder the group was one of the most succesful british bands in the 1960s.

Oh my days, this fantastic song really evokes memories of when I was kid back in the sixties, and getting up on those cold and frosty mornings for school (UGH!), and this song really alleviated my school depression to a great extent.
I wish it was a time machine that stranded us in the 60s, I would of been so happy, especially if we knew what we would be facing in our present times.
Andrew Curtis So very true,we are being plagued by anxiety fuelled by Greedy dishonest politics. Just a handful of people wielding so much power. People listen to the lies that media drives through the internet. The Internet and Globalism could have been a very beautiful creation for everyone young and old but Greed has blighted this.
@@geoffreyjonathanwilson5826 i'm from the late 90s, but am very thankful to have parents who wouldn't really let me listen to anything else other than the classics LOL
One of my favourite Manfred Mann songs from the 1960s. But thinking about it, I loved just about all their songs from the 60s right through the Earth Band years and all. Fantastic band and Manfred knew how recruit talent, that's for sure!
Ha ha said the clown Has the king lost his crown, Is the night being tight on romance Is it bringing you down, That you've lost your chance Feeling low, gotta go See a show in town Hear the jokes, have a smoke, and a laugh at the clown In a whirl, see a girl with a smile in her eyes Never thought I'd be brought right down by her lies In a trance, watch her dance to the beat of the drums Faster now, sweating brow, I'm all the fingers and thumbs Wonder why I hit the sky When she blows me a kiss In a while run a mile I'm regretting all this Time to go, close the show, Wave the people good-bye Grab my coat, grab my hat, Look that girl in the eye Where's your home, What's your phone number Stop fooling round Could have died she replied "I'm the wife of the clown"
Yes, it is gone and was the best for music and art but while we lived it we didn't know that it wouldn't be surpassed. I always thought music would get better for example, but it got worse, much worse.
Yeah! ❤🎤🎹🎸🎼✌🎧
I hope you have plenty of money, because there is a prototype about to come on to the market, but it retails at £ 5o,ooo, But they do offer easy terms.and it cannot guarantee which decade you land in.

Ha ha siad the clown, as the king lost his crown. Is the night being tired of romance Ha ha said the clown is it bringing you down than you lost you chance? The clown is him. The king is his rival for the girl, his wife. The girl ,his wife, rejects his rival, the clown, him, mocks the king. Ha ha said the clown, is it bringing you down that you lost your chance?
WOOOOOW!What a young splendid band!My favourite,excellent,legendary song & famous,fabulous melody by Manfred Mann!Makes me feel happy,be glad!Thanks!💖🌞🎙🎸🎸🎸🎶🥁🎹💖🌞💞💕💙😀👌👍✌👏🏼
Mike Hugg, the drummer, hated this song with a passion, said it was in the top five of the worst songs in the world, guess the little toy drummer on Manfreds Piano was in case he was a no show!
This song is being used in the dangerous trend called clowning where young persons make an endless loop of the song and dance for hours upon end. Clowning sessions can sometimes last multiple days.

Ha, Ha....I remember this tune and the video was played on American Bandstand or some other music show because I remember that too ! one of the many great songs of that era, I was 12 years old, 1967 !

@@greenlouie5850 wake up, you have to look out for the right stuff - besides: a lot of "the depressing shite" is also a part of working with and against depressions - there is so much different music today, that it is quite dumb to put all that in two words... btw. "haha said the clown" has a quite sad and depressing story, don´t you think? "...and left me to die like a fox on the run" said who? btw. the music then was nothing but "tip toe through the tulips", agreed? i was a teenager then and i remember well, that i also had a fairly tough fight against depressions myself - many people who don´t know this, tend to look scournfully down on that, this is not nice - depressions have nothing to do with "shite" - luckily i had a turning point in my life at the age of 28, when i encountered death two times within in one year - quite often we have to go really deep down to realize certain things, that is nothing bad - now i am a man who looks positively on life and despite the tremendous amount of extremely harsh and bad things in this world, i focus on positive vibes... anyway, this is one thing i don´t like from very many fans of older music: the scourn or even hate towards modern music, without even knowing, let alone understanding it - the masses always tend to listen to simple or even boring stuff, that was never a real measure - the fresh and interesting music always came and comes from minorities - i bet you don´t even know, which is the most popular tradtional instrument among the young people today! wake up and explore... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IWtg_6bqfeA.html ...and one of my latest (very depressing) faves: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VpQhVl-WkHo.html best wishes from germany
friesiaman s Your story is very touching. I don’t usually analyse the song lyrics but your right. The songs back then seem to have a pattern of depressing lyrics to them compared to present day music were the focus is on improving mental health. I do listen and enjoy some modern music but specifically I personally don’t like the sound of the rap music of today, however I can’t fault it because it helps so many people combat bad mental health. Thanks for commenting this and I wish you all the best.

Always loved this song! . I'm pretty sure they are forced to be puppets, here.. mouthing the song.. well, that's what they often were forced to do.. Thanks for putting this up for us to see !!!
For some strange reason, I heard this in early 67 by the Yardbirds which was played a few times on the Boston radio stations. It came as a surprise to find it on "The Mighty Quinn" album which I bought a few years later. Even without the great Paul Jones, that's still a pretty good album and has held up well for over half a century (the vinyl copy still sounds great). Mike d'Abo's not a bad vocalist and someone should have sued the execrable Ram Jam for stealing Manfred's arrangement of Leadbelly's "Black Betty" which is 100 times better!
