Excellent review. When you're researching products online, it is so good to find a review video that is all about the product and not about the reviewer. All substance, no waffle. Thank you!
Thank you for explaining this so clearly and thoughtfully! I just bought this for my kit, and i appreciate your thorough discussion of its features. Great channel too, I check in with you regularly :)
i dont mean to be offtopic but does any of you know a trick to log back into an instagram account?? I was stupid lost my login password. I would love any tricks you can give me.
@Benicio Raylan thanks for your reply. I found the site on google and Im in the hacking process atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
A really nice tripod head but I just can not get on with the tilt as it keeps rectifying itself straight so you have to hold the tilt at the same time you put the lock on to prevent is returning to horizontal, bit of a pain as messing around gives the image camera shake.
Hi thanks for your video. I just got a very good Manfrotto MT055XPRO3 with Manfrotto MVH502AH Professional Fluid Video Head. When I open it up and set it up on a perfectly level floor (already pre-measured with a builder's level) there is still a slight tilt of the camera (noticeable to the eye). Furthermore, when I remove the fluid head, I notice that the slider part of the head that attaches to the camera is also slightly off level from the rest of the head, as if it is not a precise snug fit in the track, even when it is clamped tight. Is this normal? When you look at the setup the camera looks a little cockeyed sitting on the mounted fluid head. How level are good quality tripods supposed to be right out of the box, or is it assumed, that, no matter what, even on a perfectly level floor, you are supposed to level the tripod anyway. Being that I just got it and it was a pricey setup, I am thinking of asking for an exchange. What would you do?
I do have a mirrorless camera (g7) but I plan on pretty much keeping a slider attached to the head or directly to the tripod depending on the application. My question is do you have experience with the flat base vs the half ball mount, I really like the idea of having a quick and easy level but I may also want to attach the head to the slider? Right now I have a cheap tripod that I have to balance using the legs and it can be a pita but its doable. Im going to be doing friends wedding this year and wondering if the quick level would be the way to go, can always get a cheaper fluid head to mount the slider? what kind of setup do you use if you are using a slider and have to move the tripod around?
+onerugrat For the application you are describing, I usually recommend a 75mm ball fluid head with tripod, like this one: amzn.to/2jSHUOL You can then use a less expensive fluid head like this, for the slider: amzn.to/2iwbaP1 The ball head is certainly much easier to level the tripod. This helps a great deal for professional and semi-professional applications.
Hi, I am looking for a Pan & Tilt Fluid Video head (Flat base to use with Manfrotto 190xprob tripod) for Sony A7RII (with battery grip), X-T2 (with Battery Grip), EM-5II (mirorless bodies). After reviewing this video, I don't think Manfrotto 502HD would be a good choice. Could you please recommend something good? Would really a reply. Thanks.
Why wouldn't the Manfrotto 502HD be a good choice? You could consider the Manfrotto MHXPRO-2W: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-B4tTkFlMYVM.html
hello will you suggest this head to hold a Konova K5 slider (8.5 pounds of weight) and a 5d mark iii with a 24-105 canon lens ( both add around almost 4 pounds of weight) and the head supporting the camera maybe around 1 or 16 pounds of total weight , would this head hold safely without the slider getting off balanced? thank you
+Gian Carlo Feoli -Arrow Films- I would recommend upgrading to the Manfrotto 504HD: amzn.to/2dz1kGF The 504hd has enough counterbalance to match your system weight. You will however need also need a 75mm half ball tripod like this one: amzn.to/2d90X7u
Gian Carlo Feoli -Arrow Films- mount your slider directly to the tripod and then the fluid head onto the slider. it would work fine for you with that set up
I was about to get the XPRO Manfrotto fluid head to pair with my Siuri monopod for shooting weddings but then someone said this fluid head is superior in panning/tilting BUT they say its a lot heavier... now I don't know which one to get lol.
