Stop saying Manfrotto stole Satchler's idea, earlier this year Cartoni released a similar product for their tripods...its the same two step extension off one lock...Just be happy everyone is getting on this tech so it becomes cheaper for the masses. SMH. 600 euros is probably for the Aluminum version, Adorama already has it up for $949.00 just for the legs.
not the same so far I can see. The key at Sachtler is, that you can adjust the whole tripod on top and not somewhere further down. Try this with a camera on it with some extras. That´s exactly the point of the flowtech tripods. Fiddeling around to get it up or down needs often a second person. That´s why I am thinking of getting a Flowtech soon. But Sachtler has a major problem. There are no screws to adjust the strength of the closing system like on other tripods. With the time it gets loose what I have seen at a reseller, who offers them for rental and there is no way to readjust them
@@pipois I really don´t know. The advantage from Sachtler flowtech is the much smaller size when folded (if you travel thats a big point) and it can go super low BUT now Manfrotto can go this low as well. I purchased the Manfrotto carbon tripod with the Nitrotech N8 - excellent price offer and you can use a half ball to purchase extra to use it for a slider (in my case the Edelkrone pro big) but without the spreader it does not hold on low position. But it is too big for small shoots in the folded dimensions - big! So think of that. If you go for the flowtech 75 with an FSB 6 or 8 I think there are coming better offers soon.

@@pipois there was a better offer for some time for this setting (was also planning to get this exact same set) for 1.407,- without TAX. This is the actual best offer at videodata.de but you get it also in Austria at AVprofessional in Vienna or at SLACH in Vienna
I am glad I waited and did NOT buy the expensive Sachtler flowtech system tripod. This at the lower price point vs flowtech is SO much better! Especially with the interchangeable 100mm-75mm bowls.
@@blender_wiki yea I have a very poor idea about that. I just see them trying to make the same great system, and actually fail at making it as good as the "original" that's a fail in my book.
I believe sachtler and Manfrotto are the same company these days. They just sell their stuff on different tiers and are probably originally different companies.
Simply speaking, double leg has higher load capacity (55 lb vs 45 lb), and it supports 100 mm bowl ( vs 75 mm), so the base area is larger. Hence better for slider.
