I just got the one with LIVE head. Did a lot of video reviews research (yours included) for my celestron spotting scope! Will be perfect! Saw other people who use this for bird watching with their spotting scopes and it holds the weight very well! Awesome review!
Good to see a professional photographer using the Manfrotto PL 200 plate system. The secure locking in system on the ball head makes it, in my opinion, less worrying to use that the Arca Swiss type of mount.
I just received my Manfrotto Befree Advanced and so far it's great. I unfortunately didn't get the Sony version but it seems it's pretty much the same as far as build quality and functions. I do however get bugged that on the attachment it says Manfrotto sideways facing instead of towards the lens but that's just me being picky. Good review and thanks!

Thanks for your detailed review. Really helpful. I checked out the Manfrotto page but wasn't able to find out whether this or another Manfrotto tripod was capatible with the Sony A7IV. Have you come across any?
Hello there. Thanks for watching. This tripod plate was designed specifically for cameras like a7r3 or a7s2. If the body if the camera changed after those models, you can always get a generic Manfrotto plate that will fit in the mount of the tripod. You should not have any issues. Hope this helps. Could this tripod handle the weight of a Nikon P1000? The camera is very front-heavy when the lens zooms out to its fullest. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Hi Charlie. Thanks for the message. Sorry but I cannot answer your question ad I never used Peak design. Consider to subscribe for more videos though. Ciao
I feel that I have not been getting the best out my tripod! I find the lever lock a bit fiddly. There are possibly better designs. I need to make sure that the plate is locked in properly. I noted your need to push the grey lever a bit to ensure it is tightly closed so the plate does not pop out. I do not particularly like the drop-down groove in the bullhead (if the plate is not screwed on tightly, the camera can rotate) and looking to upgrade to an L bracket. While it is arco swiss compatible, it will not accept longer plates.
Mamo Air , Thanks for the review!I have a question, what about if you want to mount a telephoto on the tripod? Usually are wider than the body of a sony Alpha.
Hi Miguel. Thanks for the comment, I hope the video helped. I only mounted a sony 70-200 lens on this tripod, so I cannot really speak about bigger lenses, if that is what you mean. Consider to subacribe and join me also on my website for more content, merch and courses. Ciao www.mamoair.com
@@andybecerra DO you mean if you can set up a different Manfrotto head? Yes, as long as the screw tread size of the head match the size of the screw on the tripod.
Hi. The plate on this specific trupod is made for Sony cameras but you can find the same version with a generic plate for all the cameras. Hope it helps. Subscribe for more. ciao
At 5:26 the grey lever you are talking about is stuck for me because while locking the plate i tightened it too hard that it turned too much clockwise and jammed. Please help me.
@@MamoAir ur Welcome. A Lot of camera Guys put Sony Alpha 7 III cam with dji Gimbal on a tripod for filming. And its very easy and quickly to dismantle this top film on the ground withe the dji Gimbal. If U want i can send U a example Pic whic describe this
too bulky, I have Peak Design Alu Travel Tripod, I fit it in a Evoc Neo 16L mountainbiking backpack. Only con i see is the head can't be put in all angles, but easy fix is to get another one on top. so cant spin camera around. I've not tested it with a camera yet, only my phone. but I will eventually get a camera when I decide on which.
