mang0 played so much better than at the other 3 prior events. That defensive flavour really made him feel really refreshed. I think that both he and Hbox are capeable of clawing it back against the new gen but it'll take a lot more still. Cody, moky and Jmook aren't easy draws for them anymore, Zain dominantly cooks them both since 2023 and other demons like aMSa or Wizzy can always show up in bracket.
I think the new Gen has so much advantage in the technology that at a certain point, unless they specifically up their game in that regard, they will fall further and further behind. You have to be willing to work not only as hard as your fellow competitors, but also as smart. The new Gen know more I believe.
@sebastiansullivan4770 idk man sometimes ppl are just good. Its not like hbox and mango are washed they just arent unstoppable deities... its not unreasonable for a handful of ppl to be comparably skilled to them 15 years after their starts regardless of technology or whatever
It’s pretty hilarious and sad because Cody had an absolutely crazy losers run. But from what I’ve been seeing not many people really care. If you watch Cody’s gameplay too he’s genuinely doing some crazy stuff in game. But barely anyone cares. I find it hilarious cuz I also don’t care lmfao. Just goes to show how personality triumphs everything.
@@Pwjdjskw People who think fox is sick (like myself) also enjoy watching him but I don’t think that’s a huge crowd. From online comments it seems most people don’t like seeing fox win and they dislike his personality so they get twice as angry, meanwhile I got a huge smile on my face watching the most impressive fox melee has ever seen lol. I will add it is actually ridiculous how some people dismiss his play as “lame” because they don’t like him. He is a very aggressive player that tries to approach most of the time and combos like crazy. 100% sure you could edit a vid to make it look like Moky is playing and everyone would call the gameplay sick (or at least not lame)

@@Pwjdjskw Oh for sure, but I think that’s in large part because it’s Mango. At least I tend to see a good number of comments saying stuff like “fox is lame / op” when it isn’t Mango’s on screen. Think I once read someone say something like “Mango is the only player that makes fox worth watching”, which is just so insane to me.
Man its great too see how Mango is still relevant and how players are catching up! That makes the scene exciting respect too both for giving us such a performance!

Mango is dealing with opponents in shield so much better. He’s gunna crack the code and start whooping people again. 👉🏼 IMO if he adds in shine turn around grab mixups when his back is to the opps shield it’ll allow him to keep the high pressure, scramble mixups. People just sit in shield and wait to counter and in the set Cody got a ton of openings off Mango’s bair+shine pressure
It really is insane how Cody almost looks impossible to beat when he's playing well, it's ironic because that's kind of how it used to be with Mango. Really excited at where the game is now and despite the anticlimactic ending to this tourney it was still awesome
Yo I know it’s a loss but that was a very very good showing , mango is not far from the summit of #1 even if just for a bit longer he is grinding into this …. Cody honestly had super cheeky 1st stocks for each game if the set so minus that mango was in them sweet lawyer buns

Meta is literally dog shit garbage right now. And it's also getting to the point if you aren't willing to spam amphetamines, you aren't gonna be a top player. So many cracked out foxes taking copious amounts of adderall because they are trash without it.
Mango is now doing what he made fun of Hbox for last year which is just making top 8. In his past three tournaments he has made top 8 but has not won A SINGLE set in all 3. Meanwhile Hbox is playing way better than he has in a while and is even getting coaching from m2k. Maybe mango should drop his ego and start taking some notes from Hbox instead of harassing him.

Outplayed in terms of speed and decisions and technique. But he has the veteran player experience for sure. He could become top 1 if he improved his technique I think
I'm genuinely that excited when I watch Melee because I just enjoy it a lot, but if you have any thoughts on how it can sound less forced I'd be happy to hear it!
I enjoy watching Melee a lot too. I've been watching since 2014. I think that you shouting at the mic overpowering the gameplay itself is a little too much. Don't get me wrong, getting hyped is cool and all but the way you do it is different and sounds forced. Do you though those are just my thoughts.

I will say another challenging aspect to this which a viewer may not be as privy to was that our comms switched midway through from playing to the house to playing only for stream -- which I think are two very different types of energy. Why is Cody checking for himself so bad? No way Cody cries more than mango. Nothing against crying and being frustrated when you lose but mango is not exempt from whining

@@weaselsdawg The box is legal, button remapping is legal. That isn’t Cody’s fault, it’s the community’s. So yeah he should defend himself. Maybe I just watch more mango videos than Cody but mango is constantly complaining which I think is fine. It’s fine to be mad when you lose. If you want to petition the community to make boxes illegal, or regulate them more that’s fine. But mango is just as much a part of that problem as Cody. If mango came out against boxes they would be banned next week, he supports them just as much as Cody.
