Hi Alana! You’ve explained this whole procedure so thoroughly and I love the idea of using the frozen fruit. Thank you!❤ I was so shocked reading the comments how few women/ families had tried chutney 😱. For anyone looking for inspiring ways to use chutney we use it instead of butter on sandwiches, It makes an amazing addition to grilled cheese sandwich. Mix into ground beef/ pork when making meatloaf or sausage roll filling. Glaze sausages with it before cooking ( or any other meat especially lamb also works for roasted pumpkin and potatoes as a glaze). Warm it and pour over brie before serving with garlic crostini. Puree it and use as a dipping sauce for egg rolls, samosa, any fried food! Mix into a block of cream cheese as dip or sour cream when you want something to accompany potato wedges...Don't blame me if you get addicted ;-) Puree it and add it to salad dressing. We put 2 tablespoons into our rhubarb/apple pie... And our all time favorite is ploughmans lunch...YUM!

What a great idea to use it on sandwiches. My son likes chutney, but doesn't like mayo. Thank you for that!

@@sherryrogers695 Sure, happy to :-) Ploughmans lunch is a cold meal that was a British government initiative to encourage the working class to increase nutrition and so it was a subsidized meal at pubs ;-) But it became very pupular here in Australia because of the throw and go nature of the meal and so here it was typically packed by farmers who were out in the fields all day who needed something filling, nutritious that they could just stop and eat on the run. It makes a perfect lunch for mums on the run or picnics ;-). You just put a little of what's on hand into your lunch box or onto your plate and eat it like you would a charcuterie platter for one ;-) At it's most basic It consisted of a hunk of crusty bread ( like cob loaf, ciabatta, focaccia though my kids put in bacon/cheese pull apart bread) , chunk of cheese ( such as cheddar or stilton), butter, a pickle and pickled cocktail onions, sliced meat ( such as ham or leftover lamb or corned beef, or even a meat pie). Essential inclusions were some sort of pickled vegetable relish, some chutney and a boiled egg and dried fruits as sweet snacks. It's interchangeable, you just put a little of this and a little of that based on what you have in your pantry. Sorry my response was so long ^hugs*

@@sherryrogers695 Sure, happy to. Ploughmans lunch was a British government initiative to increase the nutrition in poorer communities and was served as a subsidized lunch to workers at pubs. It became so popular with our Aussie farmers because it was perfect for a midday meal in the field that we still gravitate toward this for on-the-run lunches and picnics. It's basically like a charcuterie board in your lunch box. You take a hunk of crusty bread (such as ciabatta, cob or cheese/bacon pull apart), a chunk of cheese ( such as cheddar/ stilton), butter, a pickle and pickled onions, some sort of pickled vegetable relish and chutney were essential inclusions along with a boiled egg and generous portion of meat. Typically it was ham or leftover roasted lamb/corned beef or a meat pie. The point was you take a little of this, and a little of that and make mini bites with whatever combination of ingredients that tickled your fancy as you went about your day.

I’ve seen chutney’s in the Ball canning book but I’ve never tried it or canned it. Sounds delicious and looks delicious. I love this collab because we get so many new canning videos by great creators and we get a new video daily! I love it! I will definitely have to give this recipe a try. I had better get busy because I want to can them all in this collab. Home canned food is the best. It’s like farm fresh eggs once you eat farm fresh you won’t eat store bought……once you start eating home canned food then it’s really hard to eat food in metal cans from the grocery store. Thank your for sharing. I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Thank you for sharing.
