Try this easy and quick recipe at home and treat yourself with some delicious Mango Holige !
Mango Holige | ಮಾವಿನಹಣ್ಣು ಹೋಳಿಗೆ
Ingredients:
1 cup grated coconut
1 cup mango pulp
2 cups sugar
1/4 cup fresh cream
3/4 cup milk
1.5 cups Chiroti Rava
1/2 cup Maida
Salt to taste
Water as required
Ghee
Oil
Procedure:
Mix grated coconut,mango pulp,sugar,fresh cream and milk in a thick bottomed kadai on medium flame.
Sugar dissolves. Lower the flame when the mixture begins to thicken. Saute until it becomes thick enough to be used for stuffing. Turn off the flame and let it cool down completely.
For dough, mix chiroti rava and Maida. Add salt to taste and mix well. Add water as required and knead well. Add oil and knead again to form dough. Now rest this for 3 hours.
After 3 hours when the dough is ready and the mango stuffing has cooled down completely, begin by kneading the dough again for a minute. Take a lemon sized ball dough,flatten it slightly. Take smaller sized stuffing ball and place it at center of the flattened dough ball. Bring the edges together,press the ball at the center and roll it in between your palms.
Dust some Maida and start rolling it on the board.
Heat a tawa. Grease the tawa and gently place the rolled Holige onto the tawa. After one side is cooked,flip over and spread some oil/ghee. Flip over again to roast the other side with ghee/oil.
Roast both sides until golden brown.
Yummy mango holige is now ready to be served with some ghee.
