Bowen was one of the best full backs of the time, and several times in state of origin games he scores intercepted tries, that he is one of the greatest of all time.
@@atak1_ no premiership doesn’t mean anything, that’s a team effort not an individual one. and Bowen had two knee reconstructions. Without them he would’ve had 150+ tries comfortably
My first ever origin. I was right in front of that intercept 5 rows back. To see that live especially after Steven Bell had touched the JT field goal (the whole crowd thought the field goal wouldnt count because of the hand that bell got to it). Unbelievable game.
Unpopular opinion. Scot Prince and Matt Bowen didn’t get more game time in Origin coz they were in the same era as Lockyer, Thurstan, Smith Inglis etc….

At that point, apart from Lockyer, all those players were new to origin and not as good, but if they get were in their primes, it would’ve been a different story *cough cough* 8 series in a row *cough cough*
