I get pissed off at chasers who turn up from far and wide and scream fuck yeah this is awesome while a tornado is ripping through towns. They are nice to watch when they are in the middle of nowhere but to be excited while one is ripping through towns is awful, not the majority of them, but some do it.
@@plazmatter 2011 was way worse. 6 EF5s, some being the most powerful in modern history and probably 5-10 others that could have been EF5 strength at some point. Crazy year
Wow never knew this was a quarter to half mile-wide beast. Luckily the stout cap reduced most of the storms and tornadoes from looking like this or we COULDVE witnessed a historic tornado outbreak
Yes! On this particular day we had beautiful weather but the day before was so scary! I live in Mansfield, TX and I kept watching the sky not knowing what was going to happen.
I live in Granite also since '76, I didn't see it from where I was hiding in my hall. Was so glad when my son called and said it was going south of us, glad no one was hurt.
@@midwestsirens Yeah, the damage reports will tell the tale. Would not be surprised at all if it turns out to be an EF-5. It had that "look" to it. Incredible footage. Rain-free base.
I have seen reports of minor ground scurring as well as a house blown completely off of it's foundation. I don't know how well built that house was, but if it comes out that that was a well built house, then I would not be surprised if it would get a high end EF4 rating.
Some nice footage of another monster in MO tonight. Certainly had the look of this one, EF4+. The chasers are doing a terrific job of capturing this event, and hats off to the folks at SPC for their forecasting.
Ah I remember this day. I saw this tornado forming around Gould. When I turned around to get back on it there were so many storm chasers targetting it it became a congo line travelling at 10mph lol. Ive never been more disappointed to miss a tornado before in my life. I did nothing wrong and was right where I needed to be lol. Not sure if Ill ever chase in OK again sadly 😂
yeah i only got lucky by picking the wrong storm first and being able to drop south to this storm right in time! but, right after the tornado passed the conga line showed up and it was baaaaad. i instantly left the storm it was so bad lol
Yeah probably will be ranked as an ef5 or ef4 last night I heard reports of a large wedge tornado of completely swiping across a town in Texas or Oklahoma might be another ef4 to ef5 luckily nobody was injured of killed
Hi James! I’m with ABC News. Did you take this video yourself, or otherwise own all rights to it? If so, do you agree to allow ABC News and its licensees to use and distribute without restriction in all media? Full terms: abcn.ws/2sGZgVm. Thanks so much, and let me know!
If it would have hit better structures it would have rated higher. They make the rating off a lot of different things. There are a lot of tornadoes that should have rated higher than they did but because the damage surveyed was at the end of the tornadoes life cycle it didnt do as much damage. The massive El Reno tornado is a perfect example. It was originally and ef5 but was later reduced to a 3
If you're an EF-4 and you hit nothing or very little, you're an EF-2, as was the case here. So stop with all the uninformed throwing out of EF-ratings in advance when you don't know anything. It's just cringy.
That 2 week stretch in May was bad, but doesn't hold a candle to 2011. Hopefully we don't have another April 2011 and 2nd half of May 2011 in our lifetime.
yeah really wishing i did that still. i’m terrible at filming holding the camera, so from now on ive decided it’s going to be mounted on something stable at all times
