The Supreme Court never said evidence and acts that occurred during a presidential service is immune from being included in a non-presidential case. They just said that a president cannot be CONVICTED for crimes under the official precedents duties. The information is the information, it’s not a presidential action.

If the trial included evidence or witnesses from Trump's time in office, the court must determine whether that evidence is immune, presumptively immune, or not immune. There's no way to bypass this process. Ultimately, Trump may argue that the trial was tainted because such evidence was admitted, creating a legal quagmire. It used to surprise me that MSNBC would bring on guests who gaslight their own audience. However, after listening to the nonsense spoken by Weissmann, Litman, and Tribe, I'm no longer surprised that MSNBC would produce this story.

why wouldn't they consider overturning it? No laws were broken by trump but were by Bragg and the Judge. The Judge should be thrown in jail for Jury tampering, bragg violated due process as so did the judge at least understand what you are talking about before commenting. How would you feel if you were at a jury trial for a crime you didn't commit and the judge told the jury how to rule on your case? Trump defense team wasn't even told what the secondary crime was until the trial was over which breaks multiple laws and ethics. The Corrupt Biden Judge blocked defense witnesses from speaking, The trial should have never taken place as NY has no Authority over Federal election violations even though there weren't any as the FEC and DOJ refuse to indict trump as there was no crime. the list goes on of other failures by Bragg and the Judge

The judge should offer a deal that either the convictions stand, or there is a retrial with some evidence inadmissible, which would still leave ample evidence for conviction. But if there is a retrial, bail is revoked and Trump is remanded to Rikers Island until the trial ends and until sentencing if found guilty. Do you think they would take that option?

Anything less and it could have been overturned EASILY in the appeals court which we have seen Trump's lawyers are very good at applying to for help delaying proceedings. Just because you don't agree that what he was convicted of should be legally considered criminal acts doesn't stop it being so. Literally millions of Americans have spent time in prison for less. Michael Cohen already did jail time for his part in this crime. Now, it's Trump's turn. These crimes all happened before Trump was president, so the presidential immunity should not apply. Even if a few charges come off for some reason there will still be plenty left (there are 34 charges). I agree that Trump should fight his appeals from prison. He can get up to 4 years for each charge. Vote Kamala/Blue all the way down the ballot. It's time to more forward, not backward.

SCOTUS can only hear this case after the 2 state levels for the NYSC make a decision not before. It must go through those levels 1st and work it's way up. That can take months but whatever his sentence is he serves it waiting on appeals from New York.

CLARIFICATION: The President has always had this immunity and the Supreme Court simply reaffirmed it. The issue here is it's being interpreted as an "absolute" immunity absolving the President of all crimes regardless of the time and nature. The Supreme Court didn't grant absolute immunity, they simply stated what was previously known and accepted which was that a President has immunity for acts relating to his position. That excludes anything not related or tied to his duties as President and to acts committed before or after his term(s). The media, either purposely or stupidly, is actually voicing exactly what Trump himself wants voiced by promoting a false narrative of an "absolute immunity ruling. " The Court did not grant it but did give the Far Right a false sense of victory.
