I used Manic Panic Vampire Red after I lifted my hair with Loreal Hicolor Highlights in Magenta for years and I had the richest, most red/burgundy hair that lasted forever.
Omg I am so glad I read this comment because my hair is like pink af after magenta hi color highlight and im looking for it to be more burgundy ! Thank you !
Hi! Quick question since I'm planning to do that, what was the process behind this? Did you do HiColor and then immediately Manic Panic and then just do your roots with HiColor and the rest of your hair with Manic Panic or?
@@helenajovic9453 So, at the beginning I used Hicolor Magenta with level 50 developer twice to lighten my hair from a dark dark brown to a rich pink shade from root to tip. I waited about two weeks between the lifts to let my hair rest. Once the majority of my hair was lifted to that bright pink, I only had to focus the Hicolor on the roots to maintain. I would go down to a level 30 developer when focusing on the roots, since they lift easier. Once my hair was dry after lifting with Hicolor Magenta, or sometimes waiting until the next day, I would use the Manic Panic and leave it in my hair for about 45 minutes.
I dyed my hair with this color a few years ago. I just threw it on top of my medium brown hair. I figured it would just be a dark red tint similar to how it looks in the tub. Hahaha wrong. My hair turned red velvet lol. I was shocked but it was a fun color and it faded nicely.
Cannot say enough thank us for this video, I want my hair bright red, but its impossible to get the actual manic panic tone i want, theres only vampire red available and i was like hell no thats too dark for me even with conditioner, but now i see this and im going back to the store, lets hope i dont f up my hair, new subscriber
I was sooooo helped by this video after I decided to get my hair red and I happened to have that dye, but didn't know the exact tone I was going to get. Thanks a lot!!!
Yay! Bleached my hair yesterday to your #11 and now it's time for application! Can't wait! I came across this video after I bleached it, so I wasn't turning back regardless, but still thank you!
For anyone wanting to try this colour, be aware that it has the absolute WORST bleeding I've ever seen. The slightest bit of water on ur hair will make anything it touches turn pink. Overrall not worth it in my opinion
This helps a lot, I have natural sandy blonde hair so I think I’m just gonna go ahead and put red on top without bleaching I don’t think it’s necessary. Manic panic is a pretty good product and gives a vivid result
I have this in my hair now and have had it for the past 8 months . I love it ! As long as you wash your hair once a week using only cold water it lasts for a good 2 months as an intense red .
Thank you so much! I’ve been looking to dye my hair red since i’ve gotten so sick of blonde, this really helps! For future reference, how long does the dye usually stay in for, and how often should it be touched up?
thank you for the content but would you mind doing a similar video except only letting the dye stay on the hair for the time it says on the jar/container of the dye, love your content, bye
I really want to try this one, I have color 7 right now. I'm just so worried about it leaving an orange tint or it fading to orange. I'm looking for a pink fade instead, can some people confirm it fades to pink even on somewhat darker hair?
I think they must have changed the formula because 20 years ago i used to use vampire red over my natural brown hair. After about 2 years i decided to bleach my hair before using vampire red and my hair was bright red on the pinkish side. I remember the water running pink from this dye.
Hiiii! Love this video and it was so informative. My hair is around #6 and I just bought this product and am just going to put it straight on my untreated, natural hair. I just want this as a temporary hair color though. How long do you think it will stay in my hair for and does it just fade with time?
Hi, I’ve just dyed my with this expecting it to be a dark plum burgundy colour but I lifted my hair wayyy to much and it’s gone right red , how should I dye over it to get the correct burgundy colour ?
i really would like to see what this does over my dark teal hair i really do not wanna bleach my hair again in fact i was hoping this would get me closer to a more burgundy "natural" shade ugh im just really sick of having my hair faded to this dark puke green and its having a really hard time fading any lighter than this no matter how much i shampoo if anyone knows any warm sorta colors i can use to dye over this color i would seriously appreciate it
It will turn purple. Possibly a merky purple but possibly not. If you need to get out green or blue try a light bleach bath or joico color eraser (it's bleached based). If you don't mind going purple for a month or so you could probably add pink and make it more magenta after. Depending on how dark the purple is.
It will not turn purple.if it is more green then an actual true blue. If it's green it will turn more a nasty brown color maybe more reddish brown but I still don't think it would look good. However if it's blue. It will turn purple. Depending on the shade of blue and brightness of the red will depend.on the shade of purple it turns to. However doing it that way u can basically take a strip and put the red on it and almost instantly u will be able to see the tone it will turn
Can you do red hair dye on natural platinum hair (never bleached and its my real hair color) cuz i tried manic panic pillard red... It turned out pretty hot pink instead of red :( i wanted RED like ruby red... How??
Do you think you could mix manic panics hot hot pink with vampire red for some samples? I’m trying to see what it would somewhat look like on my kind of light-ish brown hair (virgin hair)
You can reach 7 or 8 through bleaching your hair. I'd suggest to let your hair dresser do that. The bleach mixture will be a little less stronger because you don't want it to be as blonde as number 10 or 11.
How easy is this to remove i wanna do red but I did red before but permanent dye and it took me 5 rounds of bleach to remove it so im looking at going semi this time but so scared it won't come out
I have the same expierence with permanent red dye, that was really hard to get out. Now i dyed my hair with this vampire red, after washing a month long it became more and more pink. The last time i dyed my hair pink with manic panic, it was easy to get out. So i think this is also easy to get out / re-dye. Today i dyed my pink/redish hair dark brown, and it has almost disappeared.
After I bleached my hair it is now a 8/9 and I would like my hair as red as Ariel the little mermaid today. I have manic panic’s vampire red and pillarbox red... What do you recommend? 😭
