I just heard this song for the first time blaring in outdoor speakers at Odori Park in Sapporo during the Sapporo Light Festival as the first flakes of the season fell. What an incredible experience. I just moved to Japan a couple months ago and this experience filled me with incredible joy and love for this magical city.
Love the song, understand the image's it evokes. Bring tears to my eyes thinking about having to get out the bloody front door in 't morning on way to work. I do agree, coming from Safend. Walkin...Struggling through those bloody snow storms was fun. (If you ain't been to Sapporo. GO).
The Manics do like Japan! And i love a lot of Japanese culture- haiku, classic films (especially by Mizoguchi, e.g Sansho Dayu, the peak of cinema), Murakami novels, among other books, Zen, prints (e.g Hiroshige, Hokusai, Harunobu)...
Going to spend today, listening to all of the new 🎶 music(do people still do this?) anyway it's sounding like a wonderful addition to The Manic Street Preachers History👆
@@dominicaaaaa5547 gosh , what an introduction , although The Holy Bible was also the first full album I heard as well when first getting into them back in 95/96 ... fast forward 25 years later and 11 more albums (plus the solo albums mustn't forget!) ... its like a choose your own adventure for you to tread a path through 🤔😀😀 Id say begin with the new album to get a feel where we're currently at and then maybe choose Everything Must Go or This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours after it which were their follow up albums right after The Holy Bible and transition to a 3 piece after Richeys disappearance. 👍😍
@@Jonny_Red thanks for the reply. I didn't like the holy bible much at first actually ..wanted to - But it took me quite a while to get into I guess it's not a very easy listen is it haha. Really like it now though :0 I will go with the new one and then ..the 90s cds are probably dead cheap as most albums from that time are so I'll check out the two you recommended after. Thank you Jonny! :D
I just heard the song for the first time but I was immediately captivated by the big guitar bend after the first chorus. "I heard this before" I thought. I think it is the same you can hear in radiohead's "how to disappear completely" . In this case too, makes the song very unique
Manic Street Preachers - Still Snowing 🌨 in Sapporo (Official Audio) The Manics. are a fantastic band as I’m discovering. They never fail to please an audience with their music. I’m really enjoying listening to this song again. The lyrics are terrific and so well sung by them. I’ll continue to listen to their amazing music. Lovely 🥰 Perfection doesn’t come better than this. …. Well Done Guys. Absolute perfection !!!! Aghhh
