Manik Ratan Part 2 -- Sharmila Tagore & Soumitra Chatterjee 

It was great to see Sharmila and Soumitro Chatterjee together! I remember being thrown in for a classroom scene with Shomitro Chatterjee at Tollygunge studio as a kid in Bilet Pherat made by Chidananda Dasgupta( Aparna Sen's father).. I knew her younger. Sister ( tinkudidi) well who sadly passed away at a young age and her mother Iramashe.. Her younger sister will be remembered for her captivating performance in Kabuliwalla - a most touching film.. My favourite Bengali fllm was Charulata, a very bold subject in that era also with Shoumitro and Madhabi. I loved Sharmila in Mausum and Dooriyan made by Bhim sain in the early 80's.. Shes so elegant and graceful and grown even more beautiful as she has aged. Jaya Bacchan looks like a sack of potatoes in contrast to Sharmila!

What you have seen is that when someone smiles, nature also smiles with her!!! Yeah I have seen. I am no her time yet I think I am her age because I love Sharmila more than anyone in this world. In the next birth or if we are reborn again, I am born as her own.
