Is Manikaran Sahib safe to travel Now after the recent riot ? YES
Manikaran Sahib and the Shiv temple nearby are the safest place to visit in Himachal Pradesh .
Location : Manikaran is located about 4 kms from Kasol .
How to reach : ( from Kasol ) You can rent a bike , take a bus or hire a cab for Rs 200 - Rs 250 .
Things to do : As soon as you reach Manikaran Sahib ji Gurudwara , you will find hot spring water to freshen up - separate for gents and ladies . There is a separate room for Langar Seva - which goes on for 24 hours . Inside Gurudwara , it is really peaceful and if you can visit by 8:30pm you will be lucky to witness the Kirtan and the closing ceremony / Samapti . Never miss to relish the Kada Prasad .
Shiv Temple - While you visit Gurudwara , it is also a must to visit Shiv Temple which shares the same location . There is a small path way through which you can reach the market and the Shiv temple .
Inside the temple there is a hot water spring where small potlis of rice and channa are cooked by the visitors and taken back home as Prasad . It is said that Shiv ji & Parvati ma came to visit the valley but they loved the place so much that they spent almost 1100 years together here .
It is a bliss - abode of heaven - where you will find the cold flowing water of Parvati river and a part of it is covered with hot springs .
Things to Shop - Head gear , Prasad , Kada , bags , woollen clothes , souvenirs etc .
Note : Very low chances of getting a vehicle back home / hotel after 9.30 pm .
