Manipur Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh and DGP Rajiv Singh, in a joint statement, clarified that the intelligence regarding the infiltration of 900 trained Kuki militants from Myanmar, allegedly planning to attack Meitei people on September 28, "could not be substantiated on the ground." They emphasized that there is currently no evidence to support such claims. The intelligence report about the entry of 900 Kuki militants into Manipur from Myanmar had caused tension in the state, sparking significant anxiety within both communities. The only way to keep manipur as before is if Kukis go back to imphal and meiteis go back to Lamka-CCPur which is never going to happen. Atleast not for a decade even for the most optimist mind. I understand what you mean but just put yourself in someone's shoes and think for a moment How positive would you be if Kuki Inpi declares war on "Meitei Rapist" Or "Meitei terrorist" and say that it doesn't mean all meiteis. If there is war with nagas would you declare war on "Naga terrorist" If meitei CSOs declared war on KNO/KNF or something, it's understandable but to put a blanket label on a community of 6-7 lakhs and expect people to understand and respond positively is totally insane. It was true, some months back, that Kuki Chin militants infiltrated Jiribam. Sporadic firing has taken place since then, accounting for seven lives and many houses destroyed and burnt. Then what's wrong with the intel reports that militants from Myanmar may attack Meitei peripheral areas on or around 28 September? Please wait for at least that day to see if the attack happens or not. To know is to win. What's the harm, if not? Isn't it premature to deny the report before it happened? Isn't an important security official in Manipur today looks like suffering from Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde syndrome -- saying something today and denying it the next day? Schizophrenic and split personality, isn't he like a puppet on a string -- a Kathputli at that. We need a strong official, who stood his words.
