Prof Bimol is not a one man army who can single-handedly make and implement decisions. Contrary to popular conviction in Manipur at present, it is the party that counts and not the individual, because one has to abide by the policies and principles of one's party. And Prof Bimol represents Congress, the party which signed SoO agreement with Myanmarese Chin-Kuki militants, the party which stands against Indo-Myanmar border fencing, removal of FMR and NRC, the measures which are absolutely necessary for safeguarding the territorial integrity and the very existence of Manipur. To fight for Manipur, Prof Bimol will have to oppose the anti-Manipur Congress leaders, an impossibility. So, believing that Prof Bimol is going to be the saviour of Manipur is illogical and, hence, wrong. If the Prof sincerely and honestly wants to fight for the State, why did he opt for Congress, given the anti-Manipur stance of the party? It casts a big and dark shadow of doubt on his sincerity and integrity. That Prof Bimol won't go against the anti-Manipur Congress leaders is evident from his defence of the 18th Lok Sabha elections Congress manifesto containing Congress objectives that potentially impose PR in Manipur and accepts Myanmarese Chin-Kuki infiltrators as Indians. Congress apparently not accepting Indo-Myanmar border fencing, NRC etc. as priorities in solving Manipur's crisis is indicative of the probability of Congress not being above sacrificing Manipur's territorial integrity to appease Chin-Kuki-Zos like Pandit Nehru sacrificed Kabaw Valley.
