A massive protest march was witnessed in Manipur’s Imphal against the demand for a separate administration for the state. The locals from different communities, including school and college students participated in the protest march. Some locals were also unhappy with President Droupadi Murmu’s recent address in the Lok Sabha. They said that President did not mention anything about the ongoing ethnic violence in the stance.

The problem started when the Kukis started an agitation against the orders of the high court asking the government to give reservation to meities. Meities did not agitate when Kukis were enjoying reservation benefits. Is it that the meities gettig a better deal is not to the liking of kukis. Is this agitation being orchestrated by the church, who seems to be behind every problem in the north east

What is being happening in manipur is perplexing. Meitei militants who looted state armoury are still going comperatively free. Meira paibis could still free arrested criminals away from the hands of the security forces with impunity. No one knows if the forces are too weak or are fovourably disposed to them. In all the encounters between the two communities, meiteis invariably took the initiative with their large looted weapons from which the zo-kukis tried their best to defend themselves with whatever meager means of defense available. The security forces stand witness to all these. Yet, despite all these, massive combing operations are now being carried out in the tribal areas as if they are the main culprits, leaving the meitei areas more or less free from such actions. But, however intense the combing operation might be in the hills, it would not solve the manipur crisis as it is a political issue calling for political solution. Meiteis are hellbent on snatching the tribal areas which the other party would defend to the last man. As such, peaceful separation is the only solution.

Kukis started the problem by starting an agitation against a ruling by the high Court. What was the need for that. If you dont like a high court ruling you can go on appel. Instaed of doing that why agiitate ?. It is known that kukis are from myanmar and using the porous border arms and trained soldiers are coming here to help kukis keep the fires burning. Why should indian tolerate it. Why not remove illegal kuukis back to mynmar. In the north east most of the problem can be tracked to the church and their conversion activities. Even in myanmar the existing ruling dispensation is being challenged by church backed insurgents. Is this a spill over and the kukis are keepig the place in disturbance to provide a safe haven for these myanmar insurgents. Time army steps in and send the illegal infliltrating kukis back
