Manning a Passage Red tailed hawk for Falconry Day 2 to 6 - ACR Outdoors
Join Rip my wild trapped Passage Red Tailed hawk and I as we work on training/Manning him for falconry. We will be hunting him on rabbits and squirrels very soon so feel free to follow along on our adventures.
Thanks for watching our falconry adventures and make sure to check out my other videos as I have lots of how to videos on falconry (i.e. how to trap a hawk, how to train a hawk for falconry, how to build a giant hood, how to trade off and many more) We are also working toward "going live" on some hunts so you can join us and see what falconry is all about.
A falconry license is required to own/hunt a coopers hawk in Ontario.
Contact Ontario hawking club for more information.
I'm in my third year of falconry and I'm always learning so please check with your sponsor if you have any questions.

What is that you are feeding him? Is manning better done inside compared to manning outside?

Quail and it all depends on where you can have space and less distractions. I find they want to fly away more outside.

Hey mate! What are you feeding for tidbits and how many grams per day?

It depends on the bird and weather but in the beginning around 40g to bring the weight down and than around 50-80g to maintain but every bird is different and needs to be set accordingly.
