In this video we try cleaning a DPF on the vehicle with Mannol DPF Foam Cleaner. Will it work? Watch and find out. #dpfcleaning #dpfclean #mannol #papa77 #mechanic Subscriber count: 1632
Thumbs up because it showed an ad with a white couple in it! A Stihl Trimmer ad. Wow! I defo wanna buy one. This was like going back in time a few years.
This is great stuff, I had lots of soot in my dpf even when I took out the pressure sensor the spot was unreal, I left it sit for an hour , a small bit of whiteish smoke and then a good run , soot difference at exhaust was huge under acceleration as car was getting smoky, now bearly anything 😊
I'll try this on my ds3 1.6 turbo to clean out my catalytic converter as bank 1 playing up all petrol cleaners don't seem to work hopefully this will 😮
Good stuff, seems like Mannol is pretty good at DPF cleaning, their other DPF cleaner which you put directly in the fuel tank worked really well on my Hyundai i30 and it is really cheap as well
Which i30 do you have (or did)? I am having some issues, constant regenerations even with long spirited drives. Constant Fails being recorded. 1.6d PD 2018
Your supposed to reconnect the sensor back up to the pipe,,also the best way to do the cleaning is to bring the engine up to 3k revs for about 4 mins,,then give it half a doze full throttle revs holding for 4 seconds each time,,,There's no need to drive the car at all,,Be warned ,,you can't do this procedure on newer Renault Nissan Dacia cars with the 1.5 dci as the DP filter is integrated into the exhaust manifold,,Making the foam enter into the combustion chamber and hydrolocking the engine....
I disagree, each cleaner will have its own set of instructions on the packaging. The Mannol one I used here has a different set of instructions to the JLM cleaners I use at work. I left the pipe off to make sure there was no cleaner left in there which could make its way into the sensor. I think the most important thing is getting the right result after cleaning, which is a DPF with no restrictions. I didnt know about the 1.5dci filters being part of the manifold. I'll have to keep my eye out for that if I ever need to clean one.
Fine just cleaning it but you still need to know why it blocked itself up else it will just keep doing it, could be bad glow plugs or high oil level bad sensor, and always best to reset the values after a clean else the car can have a stored coad and won't let it do its own regen, then all your effort is wasted.
No, I just drove in a higher gear than normal for half an hour or so. It's best to try and let the vehicle do a regen on its own. If you have a scan tool you can look at the DPF temperatures, soot loading, regeneration status to see if this is happening. Forcing a regeneration doesn't tell you if the vehicle will do it through normal driving.
@@DRAINTVofficial cool, yeah just lower gear, higher rpm. The DPF cleaner lowers the combustion temperature of the soot in the DPF so it doesn't need to get to 600+ degrees C to burn it off. Once I know the DPF is clear I usually reset the DPF values.
This product i have used a lot. Do not use it with a hot or warm DPF, and dont run the engine either....well not until youve emptied the can in short doses. This particular product is to be used with engine off. Youll find once the whole can is used and you drive the car.....the white smoke from rear is a bit mad, dont panic......better off out than in !!!!
Hi thanks for the video I tried this on my 2014 Vw crafter but it didn’t work did I do something wrong? I put it in through the pressure sensor pipe on the left. If you have any suggestions?
Hi, there are really only 2 reasons it wouldn't work. Either the DPF is too blocked or the pipe you sprayed it in is after the DPF. You will need to follow the pipes from the sensor to the exhaust. You want the pipe that enters the exhaust closest to the engine.
@@Papa77sGarage thank you I found a video last night on a sprinter showing you where that is. I can’t reach it from the top. I need to find somewhere to jack it up, unfortunately because I live in my campervan that’s a bit hard, going bit speak with my storage because the caravans stored there are on hard standing area hopefully ones been taking out for a holiday :)
Hi did it work? I need to do it in my 2016 insignia as it’s gone very smoky and regens every two days , I do very low mileage but try giving it socks but no use , so I reckon it needs this foam
