I bought my Manolo’s at Sacks a few months ago. Here is my story, I’m 9 US 39.5 in Christian Louboutin and 40 in Louis Vuitton so I told the salesman to bring me 39.5 royal blue because that’s the color I wanted. He did and it was so big on me that I could not even walk. He went inside and bought me size 39 but in a different color that I didn’t want. They fit perfect though. I did check the dots in the bottom and I asked him if they meant what people say about some being more comfortable or different depending on the amount of dots? He looked at me like I was crazy and he said “No the dots don’t mean anything” anyways since they didn’t have royal blue in 39 they had to order them. When they arrived I could not fit my feet in them. They were so small! I went to the store and explained. Returned them and ordered 39.5. When they arrived they fit perfect! I checked the bottom dots and they have 5 dots. I wish I could remember if the original pair I tried in store had 3 or 5 but I don’t. Anyways that’s my story. Sorry is long. Love my Manolo’s! They are so comfortable and like you said, they make me feel like a princess every time I wear them even if it’s just with jeans. My 6 year old son tells me every time he sees me wearing them that I look beautiful and they are his favorite pair of shoes. He even told me that when he marries he wants his wife to wear the same shoes 🥰 I thought it’s adorable! Can’t wait to buy another pair! I wish I could get them from a sample sale like you but don’t know how that’s possible?

Honey your attention to detail and analytical approach to this shoe gave me life! This is by far the best review I’ve seen on shoes ever. I have a huge foot, so I don’t even look at luxury brand shoes for fear they don’t even consider my size. You make me want to get these ASAP in that lovely blue!

They are beautiful. I love MB, I have 3 pairs of the BB pumps and they are so comfortable. I’ve always been worried the Hangisi would snag or stain because they are satin but I still want a pair, I want a jewel tone but thought about going with black. I see they are making leather versions which is exciting and likely more durable but it’s just something about that satin! Loved this video and you looked gorgeous as usual

The yellow one is the gold standard and the original. The pink is exactly what you said, a sample. By the way Savannahs is not American but Swedish. If you want like a Pigalle fitting Hangisi you're in for a long search.

My shoe maker put a cushion insert under the shoe lining on a pair of my Manolo's that were flopping off of my heels. Not only is the fit now perfect, but now they are super comfy & cushioned

so, I have been purchasing and wearing Manolo Blahnik heels for years and always have same styles in multiple sizes, never realizing the correlation in sizing to the dots on the soles of the shoes. I recently ordered a size 5 hangisi on sale(I normally wear a 4-4.5in hangisis) sure enough they fit like a 4/4.5 hangisi! Then I confirmed your dot theory, by comparing to dots on other hangisis I own.. sure enough you are 100% spot on!

I have a few pairs of these Hangs shoes---but I never even noticed the stuff you pointed out!! Nice points!! I have noticed a difference in sizes from different vendors though--I usually wear a size 8-8.5 in Manolo shoes--but I had to go to a 7.5 in all the hangisi shoes!! I love these shoes--mine are in the 70 and 50 mm heel--which are so comfy--also have one flat mule which is cute, but not very comfy -- I feel my feet slip as there is no backing or grip---I also enjoy wearing mine with jeans

First I want to say thank you so much for this video bc until this video I thought I was going crazy with the sizing!! This is my experience. My bf gifted me a pair for my birthday & they were a 6 & he got them from Nordstrom, 5 dots on the bottom. They were the Something Blue, I wanted to try a 6 1/2 to make sure which fits me better. I ordered from Saks bc Nordy was out of stock. The 6 1/2 from Saks fit like a 7 & I was confused on the drastic difference. I looked on the bottom & it had 1 dot! The 6 1/2 finally went in stock at Nordy & I got them, they have 5 dots & feel like a true 6 1/2 compared to the Saks pair. I couldn’t believe the difference in the 2 different 6 1/2’s!! You could tell how much bigger the one from Saks was & it covered the foot more in the front.

These are definitely on my list to purchase!!! Great video. You answered all of my questions lol

Thanks for this vid. Im looking into buying my Hangisi but I have a small but larger front part feet so I dont want to waste money on my first ones. I think the shoe style, the wideness, etc.,maybe different because of race. I mean there's a typical Asian foot size, American and etc. I'm Asian myself and I noticed that shoes here run small coz my aunt gifted me an Adidas in my size which is US size 7 and when I tried them they were so big. So im my opinion that is kinda part of the shoe making idea.

They tell you that they’re made in Italy but they aren’t. They are made in China. Very few large manufacturers make any shoes in Italy. They don’t have the manpower. This is the lie they tell us

The pitch looks different too. The cut of the toe box on the blush pair is more like the Manolo BB pump.. I ordered the yellow ones from Savannah’s too, but didn’t like how they looked on me. I thought it was the heel height. Don’ t like the 105 height as much.. Super helpful!❤️🙏🏽

Girrrllllll this is THE BEST and most comprehensive Hangisi review Ive come across so far. I was JUST about to order these from Savannahs but wanted to do some recon first. I ordered some Gianvitto Rossi heels from there but had to return them due to sizing even though I read everywhere to order my true size. I wonder if the construction of the shoe is different in the UK in general because of the the makeup of the European body? Like the way I love Japanese clothes, but they never fit my curves or body correctly bc they are made with the Asian body type in mind. I thought about ordering the 38 but I am greatly concerned that they will have slippage. I know they will. They are for my upcoming wedding in November. Also, does the gunmetal part lay completely flat on the shoe?

Yes The shoe is iconic. It took me 10 years to buy my first pair it was worth the wait. Got them at Saks and yes there are 5 dots on the sole.

Thank you so much for explaining the sizing differences from the manufacturing sites. Because of your explanation, I was able to score my dream wedding shoes (Hangisi dark gold glitter) I've been searching high and low and couldn't find it in size 9 anywhere. I had tried them in 8.5 at Nordstrom's and they were too tight, so there was no way I could have danced the night away in them. It is possible that the factories are using the metric system for European shipments and the imperial system for the US resulting in a discrepancy in sizes.

I ordered two pairs from Nordstrom's. The 90mm pair has two dots, and fit small. The 105mm has three dots, and fits large. I need a 1/2 size larger in the 90mm, but Nordstrom's is sold out. Besides, I could size up and get sent a new pair with three dots. I give up!

Could the size difference be because one is in european size (EU) versus Italian size (IT)? A 38 IT is equivalent to 39 Eu.

I watched this whilst ordering and got true to size on farfetch just to be safe (I'm usually a 37.5 but I have wide feet and currently keep having to order 38 on adidas and nike). But when they came I was SWIMMING in them... dang it shoulda got a full size smaller since somehow there is a massive gap on top where the heel should hug the ankle. three dot definitely not a true to size fit... 70 mm also somehow a lot lower than my gianvito rossi's! Super bummed but I'll have to return them! 😢

The sizing on the shoes is Italian sizing you need to convert with the size chart for the eur/us size!!! 37.5 IT indicated on the shoe would be a US 7.5

I tried out the Manolos Hangisi at Saks in store in the US and the size 35 or 5 fit me perfectly but then when I ordered them online from saks with the same size, I felt like the shoe was slightly tighter in the toe area. Do you think I should exchange for 1/2 size up or do I just need to break them in a bit? Also the back of the heel only has one dot. Thank you!! Love your content! 👏

Toe box width variations: This was several years ago, maybe two years after this style first boomed in popularity. I had read in the purseblog forum they actually created these shoes with slight toe box width differences. But the sales person in Hong Kong weren't sure what I was talking about. Anyway, I gave up as I felt they were too tight (even for petite feet!). Must try them again using the dot theory. Thank you for the analysis and descriptions! I totally know what you mean by cleavage and square cut of the edging that make it more refined! The arch info was very useful too!

Super review mama - the dots I don’t think it has anything to do with the warehouse - no slight - but the width of the shoes? Manolo Blahnik make wide fitting shoes like Stuart Weitzman. As you mentioned (and visibly) the 37 is wider than the 37.5 and although its smaller than the 37.5 it feels bigger as your feet spread out more - I bet you get more toe cleavage with these shoes? Your feet are slimmer and held in better by the 37.5. Once you know where you sit on the scale you can always order accordingly. Keep up the super videos.

I love this info! So ocd which is right up my alley!! Perhaps you ladies can help me. I’m Interested in a pair of flats coming from Japan that are velvet Manolos but they have 4 dots… and they are a 37 which is my actual size. By this theory does that mean that the 4 dots are more narrow than the 3 but not as narrow as the 5? Anyone have experience with shoes and the dots coming from Japan?
