The manor in Obory near Konstancin-Jeziorna is a meeting with a history witnessed by hornbeams, oaks, lindens ... I am lucky that the manor and park complex is located opposite my house and amazing bird concerts take place from there.
In the 15th and 16th centuries, the property belonged to the Oborski family. The wooden mansion was rebuilt in the baroque style in the years 1681-1688, when the owner of the property was the sister of Queen Marysieńka (wife of Jan III Sobieski) - Maria Anna d'Arquien de la Grange, thanks to the wedding with the Grand Chancellor of the Crown, Jan Wielopolski. As a result of various affinities and inheritance, the property passed into the hands of Kasper Potulicki in 1806. and remained in this family until the end of World War II. Then she shared the fate of many others, only recovered in 2017. Here, for several dozen years, from 1848. there was the House of Creative Work of the Polish Writers' Union. It was inspired by masters of the pen, a whole galaxy of artists, including Julian Tuwim, Jan Brzechwa, Leopold Tyrmand, Tadeusz Konwicki, Jerzy Andrzejewski, Konstanty Ildefons Gałczyński, Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz, Antonia Słonimski, Miron Białoszewski, Magdalena Samozwaniec and many, many others. The regular guest was also the queen of the theater stage, a character from "wonderland" - Barbara Krafftówna.
Konstancja née Potulickie Skórzewska founded an ancestral chapel at the cemetery in nearby Słomczyn. Konstancin, once a summer resort, was founded in 1897 from the name of the doyen. by her son Witold Skórzewski, on his mother's initiative.
