Thanks! Your video here is the best I've seen for how to use that crowning tool. I just got one, and have checked around a good amount as I ALWAYS make certain to check at least 3 sources minimum before doing something new - which for me in this case is fixing some barrel crowns. I have a decent number of arbors/mandrels, but I kind of wish I had one/some for shotguns - just to "clean them up" a bit. I'm sure it wouldn't matter, but just for aesthetics.

Did it change how much internal travel the scope needed after you recrowned it?

aloha billclay3643. yes. both windage and elevation changed -30+ MOA. i took off the EGW 20 MOA base. now it's at e 81.50 MOA and w 82.0 MOA. still the elephant gun kicks like a 2000 pound beef! ^^ aloha ^^ willie 윌리 李

aloha. yes it is. initially i ran out of the adjustments on the scope. so reinstalled on top of the EGW 20MOA one piece base. afterwards elevation stopped at 114MOA and windage at 91.25MOA. all this time i was shooting full 458 win mag reloads!!! to sight-in. my poor shoulder from firing 90+ rounds. at 90th round, the stock slipped and smacked my upper arm. i felt the excessive pain so i quit right away. that evening i saw my upper arm bruised from the recoil. following morning whenever i tried to breath in deeply i couldn't because of the pain from recoil injury to right lung lining. took me about a full week to recover. phew. aloha ^^ willie 윌리 李
