I had the opportunity to watch him batting in his first first class cricket appearance (3 day match) against Ted Dexter's England side on Indian soil ( Hyderabad ) sometime in 1962 in which he scored 70 runs and on the basis of that performance he was selected to play for India against the same England Team.

Tiger is the greatest captain that India produced and one of the finest in the world. I have heard him speaking english, which in itself was of a very high standard, this is the first time I am hearing him speaking urdu....it is just music to the ears.

😅Nawaz Iftikhar Ali khan Pataudi, was my mother cousin.His younger sister was married to Capt Maqbool Quershi of Multan. His younger brother was General Nawabzada Sher Ali Khan.

In Simi Garewal's show, he told her that the name Tiger was given to him by his family. Over here, he says his friends named him Tiger.
