Nice review! I also have the manta sleep mask and am a side sleeper. I can agree that it is a bit bulky, but for me it works fine even for sleeping on the side. Sometimes it pushes a bit on the low side eye, but I think you get used to that fairly quickly. My favorite part of the manta sleep mask is that it doesn't push on the bridge of your nose. My old masks did that, and I found that to be very uncomfortable and impacting my breathing.
Thanks for this review. I use sleep masks a lot, especially in the summer, as I cannot sleep if there's ANY light in my room. But I always have a problem with it slipping once the elastic stretches out. I was thinking of getting this because of the velcro strap, but I think I'll pass since I'm a side sleeper. Thanks for talking about that!
Many thanks for the great and honest review. It has convinced me NOT buying this product. I will stick to my proven Buff headscarf, which has served me well over the years, especially during long haul flights. Easy to carry and without the bulk of the Manta mask. During the flight I am wearing it around the neck and quickly pull it up around my eyes when bedtime calls. Bonus: Open arrival in a freezing cold city my Buff scarf served me already well around the neck and protected me from the chilling air.
I have two of these. The grey one like you have and the older black one. The grey one is falling apart while the black one, which I’ve had for about 1 additional year, is not falling apart. Also, they stretch over time and the grey one no longer can stay tight enough to stay on all night
We recommend trying OwlzzZ Sleep Mask. We use a lower density memory foam than Manta, so our eye cups automatically flatten (instead of shift) when you roll onto your side. This maintains the blackout effect and puts very little pressure on your face.
I had the same problem! I sleep on my side and so the bulk of the mask became a problem. It either moves off my eyes a little or the cup presses into my soft eye which ends up feeling super uncomfortable. The eye cups are definitely a gimmick that doesn't work in reality. It's a cool idea though and the company presents their package very well
Thanks for your review. Very thorough and helpful. I'm a side sleeper too so am not sure about Manta. What is the other mask you use for side sleeping?
I love the Tranquile Eyes better than any other eye pads I’ve used in the past. One of the best things about the eye pads is that I can blink and move my eyes in them. They are the best!
@@lillianpiersante9146 Hi there!! May I ask if are you able to sleep on your sides with no problem wearing those ttanquile eyes googles?? Iam intetested in buying an eye mask or anything that blocks light while sleeping.
I have the slim version and still have the same problem with side sleeping; came across this from Google searching if it’s a common issue and here were are 🤷♀️ real disappointing because I can’t seem to find any ‘flat’ contoured eye masks with a big enough depth for my eyelashes 😪
Guys, I wanted to add that this mask is pretty annoying to pack in my carryon. It's rather bulky and found it a drag to pack during a flight. I don't know but maybe I am just being crazy picky but I did not realize this before making the purchase. I think it's still great but just be aware that most other sleep masks are super thin.
Thank you so much. I didn't have to save money or even import the Manta Sleep Mask. I bought the Magovel mask. i found it in my own country for 10.73 dollars with taxes included. Thank you!! It's great.
Cody the mask is not just for sleeping. It also brings social inserts (rubber pads to heat up) to help with dry, tired and can be used release sty of eyes. I’ve had mine for 13 years and have only needed to order the protected sponges a couple times. If taken care of they can last many years. They are expensive but I found them to be a wonderful investment. Have a blessed night.
Lmaooooo I got a $30 sleep mask and it’s absolutely brilliant and remains on my face the entire time. Another o had bought for cheap at a fitness shop. You don’t need expensive, big bulky trash and you absolutely don’t wanna eat anything in your ears while sleeping (unless a meditative nap during the day).
I did it, i just bought myself a manta sleep mask and honestly its the best product i have ever invested my money into, it completely blocks out the light.. COMPLETELY. It is super comfortable, even lying on the side was no proplem at all. 10/10 product
I think I am going to sew one of those myself. By the way, I just recently discovered that face mask could quite well be used as a sleep mask! The loops around ears hold the mask in place while side sleeping probably better than the elastic around the head. Now I just want to make some modifications to make it even better!
Wish I saw this review before I purchased - Side sleeping is definitely annoying with this mask, and it's the worst when the cups jam into your eyeball from shifting around 😫 . I even purchased the 'MAX' eye cups, thinking if the cups were a little bigger it might help. The max cups are slightly better, but still not the best. I have long eyelashes, and for how snug I have to wear the Manta, the eye cups get squished and they still touch my eyes. I'd rate the Manta a 7 out of 10 ;) Gonna try the the Tempur-pedic sleep mask and see if that one is any better...no cups to deal with, soft and molds to the face 🤷♀️. On the hunt for the perfect mask!! 😆🥱😴
@@San37815 The Max cups are the newer version. As a follow up, I'm LOVING the Tempur-pedic eyemask SO much more than the Manta. Less pressure on the eyes/face and much more comfortable to wear! 🙌😎💤
@@henriketverk7277😀👋 I think my vote is still with the Tempur-pedic eye mask! The only thing with that one is it says you can't wash it, so I ended up throwing it out after a while... But I find it the easiest to fall asleep because it doesn't intrude on the eyes and its super soft! 😴😊👌
I like my Ohropax Sleep Mask 3D. It is less bulky and does not press into my face (I turn in my sleep). I paid about 10 euros for it. They come in several colours.
Great review mate, however at 2:49 you selected Quick Wash. The gentle cycle for that washer is Delicate. Also, at 2:54 it doesn't say anything about handwashing it. It says to use cold machine wash.
I think their idea is great, but as a side sleeper I have the same problem. I have a lot of light coming into my room and this was supposed to help...unfortunately it’s not the best. They needed to make the little eye pieces get thinner on the sides so maybe they wouldn’t push up as much. Oh well 😔
Dude, great video, but look up why you should build the habit of always sleeping on your back AND at a light and even incline(like most things, you have to work up to it little by little), AND on an empty stomach( eat 4hr earlier), plus of course blocking out all the light, and making sure you ideally get a full 8hrs. I also know the rules to getting the most out of a nap according to a lady who has been studying sleeping for the last 30 years in a college out East (would have to look it up to remember her name) if you're interested.
@@JSyntax Sure, I can summarize them here and you can look them up to get the details. Deal? So there are a few assumptions that will have to just roll with for now, like variables in time zones, sunrise and sunset fluctuations etc,. That being said, the rules to get the most out of your afternoon nap, according to her conclusions address to nap between 12(noon) and 4pm, and between 20 and 40 minutes. In the report I read, she listed 16 different benefits found in keeping the napping between these parameters. Hope this helps JSyntax! May you get closer to Shalom (completeness) everyday!
I see light through it, though. Try placing your hand over the mask as you are turned towards the light and you will see a difference. It is dark enough, but not a 100% dark. Even so, this is to me, the most comfortable mask on the planet. Just ordered the weighted one, and hope it will be even darker.
Thanks for this review. I'm a back sleeper and this man was amazing. I got the manta cool version and i Skeid like a baby. 100% recommend for folks who sorry on their back.
At first I was gonna buy Manta Sleep mask as you suggested but I am a side Walker too 😂. So I am gonna buy regular ones. Well anyway thanks. Your honest review was really very helpful to me ❤️❤️
Although I don't sleep on my side that much but sometimes I will be on my belly and have my head turn to the side and that bothers me but if I still had the right that sleep mask and I think you should try it despite the side sleeping. You're not a bad mask it's actually one of the best mask I've ever owned it gets you into such a relaxed state if you haven't tried it
Hi, thank you very much for your review, I was planning to buy this mask but now definitely nop. I am having issues right now with sleeping, but I am a side sleeper. Would you be so kind to share the link of the mask you wear to sleep on the side please, Im interested in buying it. Thank you
the problem with masks is that it's not taking into consideration that light hitting your skin can have the same negative effect. It must be the room that's blacked out for this to be at all effective ...
I wondered about that; but, in my own experience, I have not found it to be true. The light skin sensors in the skin are related to skin protection mechanisms, and not to wakefulness. One thing that does often happen with light contact on skin is an increase in body temperature. That DOES influence sleep and 'depth' of sleep.
