On our recent pilgrimage to Mantralaya, we stumbled upon this gem of a person, who is the backbone of the most amazing mess in Mantralaya!
Popularly known as maami mess, the mess was started 8 years back by a couple who wanted to settle in Mantralaya for a peaceful life!
Well read and educated, Maami continued her mess even after losing her husband due to the pandemic.
The strength behind her smile and the positivity in her face makes this mess even more special!
They serve amazing Idlies, vadas, puris and Pongal in the mornings with an amazing Tamil Nadu style drumstick sambar and chutney which differs each day, they also serve meals at lunch and dinner and chapatis.
They also cater to your train journeys and bring you food at the station if your train is passing through Mantralaya as well!
We enjoyed our breakfast and lunch at Maami mess, and also, got a parcel tired up for our night journey back!
