Design and development of a manually operated compost aeration machine. Built in the Rural Engineering Workshop of the Lower Black River Valley Experimental Station. Belonging to the Integrated Unit for the Innovation of the Agro-alimentary System (UIISA).
This project was carried out within the framework of the professionalizing practices carried out by the students of the last year of the Higher School of Agrarian Training ESFA CET N ° 11.
The machine is designed to be used in community gardens and small agro-ecological producers. Its design allows two small people to use it with minimum effort, the first-gen lever mechanism allows aeration with a considerable mechanical advantage, achieving a proven capacity of 35 tons of aerated compost per hour with two operators. To use it, a double-entry linear compost bin should be built where the machine goes back and forth.
