Watching your videos makes NINA so completely usable for me. I cannot count the number of hours you have saved me in doing it wrong!

I've been wondering how I might do this in NINA for forever. Thank you for the perfect video, as usual!

Thanks for another NINA Demo. Hopefully you'll share a how to on the Flat Wizard with a flat panel.

I'd like to do a couple videos on Calibration frames in general, then taking all of them with NINA... flats with a panel and sky flats as well. Hopefully 'soon-ish'. So much planned...

Great video! It will be very useful as a lot of people use multiband filters with OSC.

Love this Video. I have been using the “Manual” Filter wheel option for some time with other software and it is handy! In NINA the advantage is a little greater as it helps when you do you Flats & Dark Flats… So slick… I am really starting to get the feeling a positive feeling for NINA after years well elsewhere …. LOL. Sadly lack of clear skies is slowing the Learning… Thank You again for sharing your knowledge..

@@PatriotAstro Maybe would be interesting to see how to set-up an EAF in Nina from scratch, and not knowing any settings at all. Hardly finding a video about that
@PatriotAstro
@PatriotAstro 3 года назад
@@siegfriednoet What exactly do you feel is missing? I covered my EAF from an Auto-Focus perspective in my AF video and for the most part... other than that, it was just installing the hardware on the scope and loading the drivers. I don't think I did anything else. I something hung up on your install? I might just be forgetting something I did a while back though... :)

@@siegfriednoet Search my channel for the video "Setup NINA Auto-Focus Quickly and Correctly". This has actually been pinned to the NINA Discord support channel and has helped LOTS of people. I cover the procedure that should be followed for all focusers, but happen to include an EAF as one of the specific examples, since I use one... :)

I am new to deep sky imaging. I have Hydrogen-alpha clip-in filter which I am using with Canon 6D astro-modified. I am confused how to change the filter while my RGB exposures are running. Coz if I plug the filter in the plate-solving settings will also change right? Should I stop the exposures and then start plate-solving again?

Question: In NINA 2.0 it looks similar to 1.11 shown in this video. My goal is to take multiple targets in one night sequence using the same filter (Hyperstar) and have the sub’s file name contain the filter name. This worked in NINA 1.10 just fine. However, in 2.0 NINA prompts you to change the filter even if it is the same filter and stops the sequence on the second target. Bummer. Is there a way to do this without manual intervention?
@PatriotAstro
@PatriotAstro 2 года назад
I haven't run into this issue personally. BTW - NINA 2.0 is just the name of the beta version of the old 1.11 nightlies, it is the same code train. Are you doing this in the advanced sequencer or the simple sequencer? Maybe I could run a test on my end.
@bluecelox
@bluecelox 2 года назад
@@PatriotAstro BTW I am very impressed with your videos. They are very well done and it is difficult to talk that much in front of a camera in as few takes as you do. I used the simple sequencer in both 1.10 and the 2.0. My equipment is a new Celestron C14 EdgeHD using Hyperstar with a filter drawer. In 1.10 I set up the filter wheel with my 5 filters even though I don’t have a filter wheel. I was able to take multiple targets in one night all using the same filter and the subs contained the filter name in the file name. I used the same (or similar) sequence in 2.0. I had to connect the manual filter wheel to get the filter name into the subs file name. Unfortunately, when the first target was done NINA had a Filter change dialogue box come up and you needed to confirm by clicking OK to proceed to the next target. However, this stopped the sequence and I didn’t know until the next morning. Clicking OK, it would have proceeded. If I don’t connect the fake filter wheel then the multiple targets work, but the filter name is not in the subs file name. Anyway, that is the problem and makes taking multiple targets not practical using filters and 2.0. Thanks for any help you can provide.

@@bluecelox I’m surprised it’s actually behaving that way. I‘ll ask about it for you soon. In the short term, a workaround would be to just type the filter name directly into the file name in the options imaging tab. Just replace the filter variable with the filter name. Now this won’t put it in the fits header, but will get it into the file name. I wouldn’t call this a practical long-term solution, but may help you in the short term. Of course when you do this, also disconnect the manual filter wheel so that you don’t get the prompts.
