A short documentary on how Mazzucchelli makes his incredible acetate's sheets, a glimpse about a family business that shaped the eyewear industry, a story about an industrial process which is still "handmade" in all its aspects.
Entirely shot at Mazzucchelli's facility in Castiglione Olona, Varese, Italy.

What the actual fuck this is amazing! How does this not have more views? This stuff is used all over the world and has been for a century! Such beautiful material.

I want to agree with you. But they skip steps and leave out the good part ... like how it's actually made. How does the cotton or cellulose become acetate. They only show how acetate is colored and formed. :(

Wondering if my Giorgio comb is made from the cellulose acetate this company produces. Read somewhere Giorgio is made in Italy.

Hey, I love that you are putting some entertaining music and photos to make a chemistry / mfg video more interesting. But you have 30 of artistic intro on a 3:00 min video (art bloat?). Then your video says the process starts your starting with cellulose fiber. Then narrator says cotton forced through a press to form a paste. (Hmm, that "cotton" looks like it's already been processed into cellulose acetate, but OK.) Next thing your know, your guy is adding pigments to "acetate". How did the cotton magically become acetate paste? Very confusing. If you're going to make a "how it's made" video, maybe include or at least describe all the steps. Otherwise it becomes a "magic trick" video, right?
