Nature literally created a cat with a default facial-expression range going from "Not amused" to "Plotting your demise" and we STILL find them cute as hell XD
A gentle reminder that because these cats live in tall grass areas, they have developed an instinct to simply lie low and not move to stay hidden. Which means they’ll do it anywhere, thinking it works.
Sane thing with fawns. They get spooked and instantly lie down. It doesn't exactly provide cover, when they do it in the middle of a road. The poor mom is just standing there trying to get her fawn to get up and finish crossing the road, and junior is crouching low to hide. 😂
@scarletgoat173 Pallas cats and house cats can cross breed and occasionally they do with feral cats in the wild. The offspring are generally healthy but they're not a good fit for domestication. Pallas cats like the cold and having a large territory to roam, they're also quite aggressive compared to domestic cats.
They do not really have claws to speak of but their teeth are about twice the size of a domestic cats so the bite is intense that and they are very agresive.
I had no idea Pallas cats existed until a couple weeks ago. I like cats, but I’ve always been more of a dog person…..until now. I am totally obsessed!! How can you be a wild untamed beast and look like THAT?? They must lull their pray into a false sense of security before ripping them apart. The only thing cuter than a Pallas cat is a Pallas kitten.❤
For anyone curious, this is a Pallas’s cat AKA Manul, this creature looks like the grumpiest cat and it also has the most layers of fur in the cat species.
Just note that despite looking friend shaped, they are not always friends. They are about the wildest cat on the spectrum of cats that look like those we’ve domesticated. In fact I’m surprised the guy feeling his fur and the cat being on that other guy’s lap happened.
It makes me sad that some animals are so friend-shaped, and yet they're off-limits. I respect it but... I desperately want to hug that floofy chonk boi
Fun fact: they do that because they're cold weather cats, instead of resting their paws into the snow, they use their tail to avoid contact with the freezing surface and keep themselves warm.
I wish there were a domestic kitty that looked like a Manul...including that extremely floofy winter coat! The fur says. 'bury your hads in this!', the eyes say, 'try it and you'll lose body parts.' These cats have the most expressive faces. As much as I hate snow and cold weather, I'd brave these cats' habitat to watch them for a year or two. Even if it was through binoculars!✌️❤😺
Not even in the most inhospitable places do they catch a break with cattle grazers and cattle dogs disruptive to the cats solitary lives. Mongolia and Himalayas. A zoo would be hell for such a territorial animal.
.... hmmm or maybe a Persian with a Maine Coon, Persian for the eyes and to shorten Coon muzzle, but also lengthen the Persian muzzle. The results would have fluff. Persians in general need to be cross bred with cats of lengthy muzzles so the poor babies aren't pugs/bulldogs of the cat world anymore.
If you search for some videos made by zookeepers about big cats such as tigers, lions, leopards, etc. You will be rewarded with the images of a gigantic beast acting exactly like a house cat would.
this is one of the most wholesome videos, I'm alone in a hospital room awaiting surgery tomorrow morning and this is the energy i needed😊 when life happens just be Manul❤ i just sent it to my mom, she loved it too❤❤❤
I would love one as an exotic pet, but I know it wouldn't be happy outside its natural habitat, so I'll just love these chonky, feral mew-mews from afar. ❤ Never knew they existed, so thanks for sharing!
Rescue a persian cat! They're similarly chonky and fluffy and grumpy looking, but are much better pets. They're also often neglected due to higher care needs than most cats so plenty need loving homes.
@blackosprey2219 Yep! My mom picked ours from a vet and the person working there said he was returned by all his previous owners in 2 days. That was 7 years ago. Sometimes I think he's more dog than cat
The body is round…. Pallas cats are proof there’s good in the universe… Pallas cats sitting on their tails to warm their toes beans is the most wholesome thing ever… If heaven exists it’s full of Pallas kittens…
@@datguy2061 Sure, if they were the size of Siberian tigers, LOL. As it is they’re pretty small, but I guess if a gang of Pallas cats decided to take you out then, yeah you’d be toast. Good thing they don’t roam in packs. 😂
@@silvermainecoons3269they still can scratch and their teeth and bite force are surprisingly large, so even if they wont dissasemble you like lego figurine, they’ll still make lots of damage to your hands, and thats at best
@francescalind6022 not entirely true they are actually aggressive on sight. If they see you, they will start to growl, and hiss if you get closer, they likely will attack at least in the wild
So, what you are showing is that these cats CAN BE domesticated, therefore I want one or 2 or maybe 3 or ..... I love these Siberian Cave Cats! Обожаю этих сибирских пещерных кошек! 私はこれらのシベリアの洞窟猫が大好きです! 我喜歡這些西伯利亞洞穴貓!
No, this footage was filmed at a zoo. Pallas cats have very specific diets and health needs. They’re adapted to live in extreme environments and at high altitudes. They only thrive in the wild in Central Asia on the Tibetan Plateau. Their immune systems are not as effective at lower elevations, they are similar to snow leopards in that regard. I wish they could be kept as pets, they’re so beautiful and unique. But they aren’t nearly as hardy as domestic cats. We will have to make do with seeing them on RU-vid or at the few zoos where zoologists are starting to have some success with captive breeding programs. They’re endangered like so many other wild cats and they used to be killed for their pelts. Let’s hope these magnificent kitties will be around for a very long time, the world would be a much sadder place without them. 😢😻
no, they can’t be. they are still very feral even if you raise them from a kitten, which would be awful for them, as they need their siblings and their mom. they may still know you, but like lions and hyenas raised by humans, as they mature, they finally need to be free!! 🐅🐆🐊🌷🌱
@feralbluee only way would be to essentially take a normal cat and give it the genes to have the same kind of hair and a stockier frame. Heck we have domesticated breed more than 50% of the way there. Only need one or two edits. Simple ones to that have no chance of causing mutations and only an absolute uneducated trd would think it's a bad idea
These guys die at low elevated levels due to them living high in the mountains. So no, they can’t be domesticated. You’ll only kill them unless you’re willing to live in an icy hell with them
Im honestly proud to be wrong this once. Thank you all for the views and loving my complication of these round boys. It doesnt feel real at all to see so many love this. I dont plan on making cat videos my main content its mostly me shitposting about games but ill still do cat memes
I mean if people have chimps as pets, I think these cats would be perfectly fine. Both animals could rip your face, but at least the cat couldn’t hold you down while it does that haha. Plus you can just spray water at it if it comes a little too close to you 😅😂
Chimps make terrible pets; they’re too smart, too strong, too unpredictable, and too similar to the most dangerous ape on the planet, human beings. As for Pallas cats, they have delicate immune systems tailored for life in very cold, very high altitudes such as Central Asia and the Tibetan Plateau. They don’t do well in captivity. I love them and would happily have at least 20 of them running around my property if I could, if it were safe, legal, and ethical, but since it’s none of those things I’ll just have to worship them from afar.
Their immune systems are adapted for extremally high altitude environments, they will have health problems because of the germs found in more common altitude areas
I absolutely loved this article! The writer did an amazing job of presenting the information in a clear and concise manner. The focus on the benefits of exercise for both physical and mental health was spot on. As someone who strives to maintain a healthy lifestyle, this article was a great reminder of why I do what I do. Thank you for sharing such great insight!
