Phil Harris was a legend. He voices three Disney characters such as Baloo from The Jungle Book, Thomas O Malley from The Aristocats and Little John from Robin Hood. His only non-Disney role before his death was Patou from Rock-A-Doodle.

His Baloo was my favorite from the 1967 Jungle Book. Also the late Ed Gilbert studied Phil Harris recording of Baloo so that it would have the flow.

Phil Harris has had a pretty recognisable voice. It’s a pity though that in recent years those that took on his characters weren’t exactly doing any impression of him, most notably John Goodman and Joel McCrary’s take on Baloo.

my favorite character he played was himself on his and his wifes radio show, the Phil Harris, Alice Faye show...that's when he was at his best

Coincidentally enough he and his Aristocats co star Eva Gabor passed on within weeks of each other in July and August of 1995 respectively. Still he lived quite a long life and charmed a great many over the years with not only with his singing but also the charm he brought to his Disney roles as Baloo, Thomas O' Malley and Little John respectively with that distinctive smooth voice, though there was really no discernible difference in his overall performance between the three characters.

I read Phil Harris recorded dialogue for Baloo in Talespin but he was recast due to his voice not being the same as it once was.

Originally, Phil Harris wants to return to be the voice of Baloo in Disney's TaleSpin, but he retired and too old to be voice acting career, so he's replacing to Ed Gilbert instead.

Bill Murray took over the role of Baloo the Bear in the 2016 live-action Jungle Book. I hope Murray gets casted as Thomas O'Malley in the new live-action Aristocats and Little John in the new upcoming live-action Robin Hood. Disney has just started development on live-action adaptations of The Aristocats and Robin Hood in January 2022 and April 2020
