Manyu is ill,the reason for this is that... 

I apologize if the video caused everyone so much concern. Many have been worried about Manyu's health. Currently, she is in good health. The previous health issues she experienced were minor uterine fluid accumulation and a false pregnancy. Some have speculated that Manyu had uterine suppuration, ovarian cysts, etc., and suggested that not sterilizing her immediately would endanger her life. However, the actual situation is not as severe. I have always been reluctant for Manyu to have puppies, so the plan was to have her sterilized in mid-December. While researching information about sterilization, I came across many negative opinions about it. I wanted to hear real experiences from people who have gone through it. At no point did I say I wouldn't sterilize Manyu or that I wanted her to have puppies. I have received everyone's experiences, and I have already confirmed with the vet. We plan to have her sterilized when the weather gets warmer. The phrase "integrity of the body" was not meant to disrespect women or show a lack of concern for Manyu. Perhaps many people are not aware that female dogs' sterilization involves removing the entire uterus and ovaries. These organs have functions beyond reproduction, including hormone secretion. So, in the video, I expressed my hesitation. If this statement made you uncomfortable, I sincerely apologize. Over the past few months, Manyu's account has gained the love and attention of many friends. As I mentioned at the beginning, if Manyu and Bai's videos bring you a little happiness and a sense of healing, it is a very happy thing for us. 我是過來人，家裡有隻rottweiler女，我之前也跟你一樣覺得不想沒事讓她挨一刀，所以沒帶她絕育，可是也沒有讓她去交配生育，於是她6歲那年，就子宮蓄膿了，後來才知道，每次的月事都會讓她子宮有一些營養儲備，用來提供給狗寶寶，當沒有狗寶寶去吸收這些營養，就會變成養細菌，長年就造成容易子宮蓄膿，到這時候做手術會更危險也更貴，醫生要很小心去處理子宮以免過程中爆膿感染，我很感恩我的狗順利完成手術，現在我會說，如果沒有要讓狗狗生育的想法，絕育的確會比較好～！

As the dog owner, it is completely a personal preference whether to spay your dog or not , but from a health point of view, it is indeed recommended by most vets to undergo this procedure, unless you want to breed her. If you don't spay her, every 4-6 months, when she goes into heat she will be extremely uncomfortable and suffering and may go even days without food during this time, and this will continue until menopause or death. Which is why, especially for female dogs, spaying is recommended. Psychologically it has no impact on them, that is just a human viewpoint. This is just a personal view point, also because I am Manyu's biggest fan and I also have 4 dogs, two of which are female!

On the one hand, Manyu is already an adult and mature dog, so spraying is not as scary as if it were in puppyhood. On the other hand, some owners accept spraying only for medical reasons. But unsprayed dog needs requires additional attention and care. Even an advanced false pregnancy can cause significant problems. Plus, don't forget that you have two dogs of different sexes. When Xiaobai reaches puberty, he will have completely unbrotherly feelings for Manyu during her estrus period. Therefore, you have to be doubly careful when making this choice. Whatever you choose, I wish Manyu good health. She is a good girl! 🌸

Some things to keep in mind: 1. Going through heat (estrus) can be quite distressing for a dog and everyone around them (including you and the other animals in your home). Whenever Manyu is in heat she will have to be separated from Xiaobai, which will be upsetting for both of them, she will also feeling physically and psychologically uncomfortable due to the massive hormonal changes occurring at the time. She will have a menstrual period (bleeding) that will require precautions (such as a diaper) to prevent soiling her surroundings. Spaying is a one-off, but estrus and all its discomforts and risks will occur two or three times a year, every year, until she passes. 2. If Manyu is already experiencing health risks associated with estrus, they aren’t likely to go away on their own. As in the previous point, spaying is a one-off risk, but not spaying is risking additional false pregnancies, potentially multiple times a year. 3. Pregnancy is uncomfortable and risky, and accidents happen-just like humans. Spaying not only prevents uncomfortable estrus cycles, but also 100% prevents Manyu accidentally becoming pregnant, with all the potential complications that can come along with that. Having an intact male and female means that you will have to be hyper-vigilant of separating them early enough and for long enough to be certain that Manyu won’t get pregnant. Additionally, the first two years are the most risky, both in terms of accidental pregnancy (her hormones are not regulated yet and you won’t be able to predict when she is due to go into heat) and in terms of potential complications (as she is still physically maturing and at greater risk). 4. She will not be alone during the procedure. I fully get how distressing it is to leave your dog at the vet so they can be treated, but there will be a whole team of attentive and caring people who want to make the whole thing as smooth and easy as possible on Manyu. Vets and vet nurses are some of the most loving people on the planet. I am a big supporter of spaying/neutering (if I could afford it, I’d have gotten the human equivalent myself) and I feel that it improves a dog’s quality of life, reduces health risks, prevents accidents, and just makes your life easier as a pet parent.

Hello Manyu and owner! I can tell you that I've owned about 20 dogs in my entire life and the healthier and happier ones have been the ones that were spayed. I currently own 7 rescued, and they are all spayed, except for 2 puppies that are still 3 months old. As soon as it's possible, they will have the surgery too. I've never had any problem with any of them after the surgery. So I can say, it's pretty safe. If Manyu has developed her bones and muscle body completely, I believe it will be very good for her. Also, speaking from experience, if your dog gets pregnant, either you keep them all or give them to people which can treat them great at the beginning, but then you just don't know or can learn terrible things that happened to the puppies 😢 We have enough dogs in the planet already that need help. No need for more. Manyu's perfect just for being her ❤

In US culture it is much more common to spay/neuter than not to, and our dogs seem just fine. I don’t know if you take Manyu into social situations with other dogs, but being “fixed” really helps dogs get along better.

Little Manyu's health is the most important thing. My dog had a prolapse and they corrected that and I had her spayed at the same time. It was better for my dog's health to be spayed. She was 10 at the time and had I have gotten her spayed earlier the prolapse of her uterus wouldn't have happened. Good luck with Manyu thanks for reading about my dogs experience. ❤

我覺得絕育的好處多過壞處, 而且既然曼玉已經有一些比較高的可能性, 發生其他相關疾病, 那不如還是絕育會好一點. 狗的一生很短, 如果絕育可以讓她不需要很多時間面對子宮方面的疾病, 那何樂而不為.

As Manyu is a female dog and has had these problems more than once, I think it would be best to spay her. Obviously it's your choice, and you want the best for her! And all of us do, too. If she's older than 6 months to a year, she should be okay since she's a small dog. Hoping for all the best

我們家以前有養了一隻馬爾濟斯，是位乖巧的女孩，我們沒有給她結育，他也一直都很健康沒有生過病，直到他16歲快17歲的時候，因為子宮蓄膿生了一場大病，還好即時去動手術救回了她，但是因為年紀也大了，動了手術身體也開始逐漸衰落，在一年多後離開了我們，覺得這是遲早都非常有可能發生的疾病，趁年輕體力好的時候及早處理，恢復得比較快，也有體力去支撐恢復期。

In America, it’s pretty normal to spay/neuter your animals (it helps prevent over-breeding and controls the population of strays/“unwanted” animals), but as Manyu’s owner and doggie dad, you must decide what is best for her health. I feel as if you have her best interests at heart with how well you care for her. Some people on here are saying to let her breed, but that’s completely up to you, and if you want to be responsible for 4-6 pups and either keeping or re-homing them to other responsible owners such as yourself. But I say you do what you feel would be the best for Manyu’s health in the coming years.

我哥的柴犬女一直沒有絕育,就是因為不想完整的牠無情的捱一刀。在七歲那一年,她子宮發炎流膿,醫生說幸好膿液沒流進腹腔因為那會更危險,我哥最後決定手術時順便把子宮摘除了。

Oh Manyu I love you so much! I actually think that spraying is going to be the kinder option. However, as Manyu's owner this has to be your decision and your choice. The bond that you have with one another and knowing the bond that I had with my dog, they more or less let you know what they want. Because you are such a wonderful owner you will consider all of the options available to you but I know that is so very hard when you love your dog as much as the whole world knows that you love Manyu.if there is a clinical need and it is going to lessen the severity of her symptoms by spraying then that has got to be a positive for her quality of life. Also because of her beautiful soul if she has a phantom pregnancy then that is going to cause her distress.Whereas spraying should not have any psychological effects. All of Manyu followers are behind you all of the way she really has touched all of out hearts.

She is a sweet girl. I agree with a former post. Her brother could impregnate her when older, and this could be difficult for her, depending on her age. We have always had our pets spayed or neutered, and things went just fine. For her health and to take precautions as to future ailments she could contract (as to what the doctor told you), I would have her spayed. I love Manyu and understand the fear of any danger! But it’s best to get her spayed for her overall health and longevity. In the US, the majority of pet dogs are spayed and neutered. It’s not uncommon and can really help her be more comfortable in the long run!

Unless breeding, it is best to spay and neuter your pets for their own health. It reduces risk of so many serious illnesses that are way worse to experience than a simple procedure. My dog has had several surgeries and the easiest recovery by far was when he was neutered. It hurts to see our loved ones in pain or discomfort. If you don’t have her spayed then she is likely to be uncomfortable each cycle. If you do have her spayed she may have complications but not necessarily. So you are comparing a possible problem to an actual problem in the end. I hope that helps. Keeping you and Manyu in my prayers ❤

I am heavily pro spraying. Our first dog had issues with mamary cancer and had to have the whole row of glands removed which is a huge operation. Anything that can help with that is worth the risks. Also pyometra is awful and spaying greatle decreeses the chances of it happening. Worth the risk if you ask me.

I’ve only had male dogs. My first one was neutered. My second one was not. My neutered dog lived to be almost 15-years-old and the operation did not cause him any issues. My current dog is 4-years-old and is not neutered, yet so far, there has been no problems. I do recommend neutering if you can afford it. Most pets do not have any health issues from the procedure. Unless you plan to breed her, it will probably be best just to have her spade. I know you love your dog! Do what you think is best. You don’t have to have the operation done, but it might be better for her in the long run. I’d do my research and follow the vet’s recommendation on what to do. You take excellent care of her, so I know no matter what you decide, she will be okay. ❤

Depends on what you're most comfortable with. I unfortunately had a dog that experienced lots of complications that could have been prevented with spraying so I'm more in favor of it but that's just from my own experience.

In the United States, it is very common to have the dog spayed or neutered at an early age. However, I do not agree with this necessarily. I don't know what the right decision is for Manyu. But she is still young. Can the decision wait until she is older? Maybe you will decide you want her to have puppies, so you can breed her sweet temperament and intelligent personality into her children.

I spayed my Shiba Inu at a very young age and she lived until 16 years old with no other issues.

I have spayed and neutered and not . So, I honor your love for Manyu by saying that I am confident you will do your best to love her until her last moment. I agree with one comment that she is a superior example of the Shibu Inu breed and would likely pass on a good disposition to her puppies, but if she were in my home, I would consider only one litter of puppies, then a spay after their weaning date. If Manyu retains fluids, that could become pyometra, which is dangerous. If you don't intend to breed Manyu, I think spaying is best when the vet advises it. It lowers her risk of cancer, too. She is so lovely, I hope she will always stay healthy.

需要的 建議節育 因為如果曼玉得到子宮蓄膿或者那一些病症 再來的治療跟療瘉，這才是真正會讓你心疼的⋯而且他也會很辛苦 我的第一隻毛小孩 養了11年我才帶她去節育 當時一開刀醫生說他已經子宮蓄膿了，我好難過 照顧牠滿久 而第二隻的毛小孩 一到我的世界後 第一次的MC完後我就帶牠去節育 現在頭好壯壯，超可愛 只是沒錯，身材會有點變形變比較胖，但是臉蛋還是很可愛 現在我希望的就是我的毛小孩頭好壯壯一切健康就好 想到上一隻躺在醫院的時候我那將近一個月都無法認真的在工作上 您做做參考 只是把個人的經驗跟您分享。

My dog was suffering before i spayed her. She was loosing a lot of bl**d during her period and then got bacterial infections and inflammation. She was loosing blood like crazy and i was so scared. I took her to the vet, they had to give her medicines and had to observe her for around a month. I never wanted to spay her but i had no choice because i saw her sufferings. She is now completely fine and healthy after spaying
