This was the 1980s when this was common, but there was an actual video documentary from the Royal Ballet in the 2000s. One of the staff members questioned the choice of Clara being a half-Japanese half-English girl and the other staff member told her something to the effect that "you can't say this today". Back in the 80s, it was common for me to be called chink and people pulling their eyes slanted and yelling ching chong. Jeremy Lin back in the 2010s had to deal with the NBA crowds calling him that.
