Hey! I created a NEW channel dedicated to CAMERA gear content! I want to keep this channel focused more on tech, so please check out ru-vid.com/show-UCoq8rCYrb74b6N1z303H5KA ! - Thanks for visiting! :)
Thank you so much for this video! It was very helpful and I love that you also compared the blue yeti one with the Maono AU-903 because I'm sat here with both of them as well! 😃👏
Same! WHY. when I plug my headphones into my computer I dont hear this white noise. It only happens when my headphones are plugged into the mic. Please help.
My thoughts are that the older model sounded a bit warmer but for overall quality/value they are a tie. The Fairy would be a better option for people on the go as mentioned. No worries I gave a up vote :)
@JSyntax, thanks much for this. I've been watching your previous videos as well. I like the sound of HyperX Quadcast best but decided to buy MAONO Fairy AU-903 after watching this video. In Thailand it is 3 times cheaper than HyperX Quadcast so I feel it is the best value mic. Not to mention volume knob and USB C feature which is not present in HyperX. Thanks again you helped me a lot.
@@JSyntax do you know if it works with Smule (karaoke app) without needing any additional equipment? This would be perfect if we can hear music and our own voice singing at the same time. I am not aware of any mic that can do this.
I'm checking prices on Shopee now, and the Blue Yeti Nano is double this mic, so I'm probably about to hit the buy button for the Maono! Did you get a pop filter, too? Can you share your purchasing experience with me?
How are you doing with the microphone? In the video I see that @JSyntax is very close to the microphone so that it is heard well, even to the point of being in a very uncomfortable position when recording videos, I understand that this is because it has little profit to not generate white noise. However, I have seen reviews of the Hyperx Quadcast where they speak at a greater distance, there is no noise and it sounds great. Could you tell us how you use the microphone, if it is as close as @JSyntax or is moving away to be in a comfortable position?
Thanks for your effort and the video. I just watched and listened to it using my HD599. The 903 has aweful background noise during speaking into it. Neither to hear on the 401 nor the Yeti Nano. Though you could fix that in post it's a bummer 'cause the audio wouldn't be usable for more professional purposes without being edited first. In general the mic seems to be pretty decent. Take care and have a great Christmas time.
Yeah noticed this too. And it's very noticeable on other YT reviews as well. Considering that you wanna use the Fairy on-the-go, you don't wanna be bothered with post processing. Has to be plug and play without that terrible noise.
****PLEASE HELP**** I notice on Amazon they don’t have the 903, all I am seeing is the 902. Do you think this will work still? I like the smartphone USB capability that you showed in this video, can’t find the 903 anywhere. Only the 902. Should I get the 902? Is it pretty much similar?
Thanks for the review. Have a few questions. 1) What's the height measurement from the base up to the microphone? 2) can the height still be adjustable? If yes, up to what measurement? 3) Just in case you had a chance to try it out, how does this compare to the Maono A04 series or the Boya PM700?
The mic is good overall, the problem is that it has a loud hissing sound when you connect it on a headphone. It also hiss a little bit on your recording.
Probably a silly question, but does the live feedback function (i.e. listening to your recording live with headphones) work when using the mic plugged into a mobile phone? Or only when plugged into a PC?
Guys i have a serious question. I ordered a samson usb mic earlier this year and found out that windows 10 has some issues with USB mics. The volume is extremely low. You NEED an interface to fix this issue. Does this mic have the same problem. Does it work fine without an interface? Please let me know.
Check the silence. I think 903 has hiss sound which is audible even in this video if one try to hear it. I bought and found the hissing sound is even more in the monitoring socket even with volume at zero. The other odd thing is, maino site specifies it as 96Khz/24bit bit I found it uses a c-media chip with 48.1khxz/16bit only.
wow..this is a promising one! If my assumption is correct, this kind of condenser mic with variable polar pattern is for those like me with "untreated" home studios? Also, does this hog too much battery from your smartphone if you plug the mic to your phone?
Looks like the amazon link above is for the AU-902 which is different from the item featured in the video. I couldn't find the AU-903 in the Amazon US shop as well. It is available though from the Amazon India and Amazon UK sites.
I'm trying now to connect my maono AU 903 to my phone thru type c to type c but its not working huhuhu. Please help me how I can connect my mic to my phone. Which connector I need plsss
Thanks for the awesome review. How far away from me can the mic be and still pick my voice? I will use my laptop to record myself. I will stand in front of a screen and I don't want the mic to be seen in the video. I can have the mic hanging from the ceiling.
Thank you so much I was so confused because I opened it wrong so then I opened it how you did and then I found the cord in a tiny ox thank you so much I was about to cry🙏😂🤣
Nice video, mate. That Fairy mic has a LOT of hiss in it. Might be bordering on unusable in a quiet room if there was just speaking voice only with no music to mask it. All the best.
JSyntax mate, the hiss is terrible. I’m sorry you didn’t realise this prior to buying it. Have a look at the review of that mic on the audio review channel Audio Hotline. You’ll clearly hear the hiss in that video. All the best.
@@thepickyaudiophile no he is reviewing the maono au903 not the au902 I accidentally ordered the 902 and i only realised it because the logo in the front and the switch at the back wasn't there.
Could I also use this usb microphone with my iPhone 11 or iPad? If so do you know what adapter I would use? Also could I attach this to a regular boom mic stand?
hello, I have a samsung A32, if I turn it on my cell phone to do live on instagram, will it work? and will there be a better sound than my cell phone microphone?
Naturally my voice is very low. Opposite listener used to complain on my low voice. Does it have internal amplifier? Can i use it to attend my meeting calls? Will it help?
Awesome video! May I ask what cord did you use to plug it into your mobile phone? I tried using its own cord plus a USB C port adapter but the mic wont turn on :/ thank you so much!
Just bought this mic but for some reason it really won't work with my android despite me using a type c cable for both of them, anyone else having this type of issue? P.S it works fine for PC tho
What’s the farthest distance can the 903 pick up your voice clearly? The ergonomic of the stand is not so ideal for my station if it’s needed to be in front of my face. The other Maono mic (A04) has bunch of accessories that make it quite compelling too.
Hi I saw this video, really enjoyed it. I'm trying to connect it to a Pixel 4 but doesnt seem to recognize the mic. Do you have any app or recommendations to get the two working together? Thanks!!
