Very nice summary of what the EE curriculum looks like. Physics and Math courses are certainly the most demanding at the beginning of the career, but certainly they are the building blocks for all Engineering fields. I'm looking forward to seeing more cool videos like this one!

Super Informative. Would also like a more in depth video about integrated circuits and quantum computer hardware design for EE.

We're on it! Thanks for the feedback, maybe next we can do a map of Electrical Engineering careers? And go into depth on those two in the video. Sounds like a cool video to me 😎

4:28 Binary is the system for dealing with 1s and 0s, assembly is one level of abstraction above binary.
@EngineeringInsiders
@EngineeringInsiders 7 месяцев назад
In the video we more meant assembly language is basically as bare bones coding as it gets, because you are assigning binary values to hardware registers

Hello, i am in my first year in engineering. Does the demand of math and physics remain the same throughout the degree (learning math)? Or does it settle down later, to which we just apply most of what we already know?

I intend to work as embedded systems engineer after college. I planned to pursue electrical engineering for Bachelor Degree! Do you think it is a good choice ? There are only 5 specialization for me to follow in the university 1) Electronic Circuit Design 2) Semiconductors and Optoelectronics 3) RF, Antennas and Microwaves 4) igital Signal Processing 5) Communications which paths do you think will fit my career goal in embedded systems ? Should I switch to Computer Engineering instead ?

So does that mean an electrical engineer can branch into computer engineering?
@EngineeringInsiders
@EngineeringInsiders 8 месяцев назад
I'd recommend watching our "So You Want to Be a Computer Engineer" video, it describes what computer engineering is in the context of software and electrical engineering! But short answer is yes it is very possible👍

Is it possible to get specialization in both power and robotics field?
@EngineeringInsiders
@EngineeringInsiders 8 месяцев назад
Yes it is possible! Although not very common. We advise you to be careful, specializing in two splits your effective skillset in either field in half, assuming you won't supplement with more learning on your own time. Therefore making it harder to get that first job. Also, only a subset of companies will have a need for an engineer with robotics and power specializations, so finding a job that uses both specializations will be a little tougher than just looking for a robotics or power job. BUT if you're very passionate about both and are happy to spend extra time looking for a job that uses both (EVs, maybe automation of power line work, etc.) then we say go for it 🙂👍

Where can i find a list of acredited schools for this major/field? I google it but im getting mixed results and im not even 100% if they're acredited when applying for jobs.
@EngineeringInsiders
@EngineeringInsiders 3 месяца назад
Great question! In the US look for ABET accredited programs - some majors at a university could have it and others not so make sure to look at the individual programs. We’re trying to put together resources for people wanting to enter engineering and this could be a good one, keep an eye out for that! 👍
